Dont make the same mistake as me with sky

Hi there i thought it was an amazing deal posted on this site for phone and broadband from sky at £12.50 a month for 12 months so i started a contract. I then received a phone call from sky offering me a basic tv package for just £4.99 a month so eventually said yes to that too, however the sales rep did not inform me that this would cancel my original contract and he misinformed me of price of tv wich is £6.75. So instead of the bargin price of £17.49 my bill is now £40 a month and cannot cancel unless i pay cancelation fee of over £100. PLEASE DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE AS ME!!! DO NOT TAKE THESE PEOPLE AT THEIR WORD. Im sure lots will think its only like £22 difference but that is a lot to a single mother who has gone back into education.

Any addition is nearly always a new contract .
If you have been misinformed its Sky you need to write to .

Sky usually send out the terms of your new contract by email or post shortly after you change. You would have also received a booklet of terms when you joined Sky which does detail this.

If you feel you have been mis-sold ask them to listen to the call.

I've never had Sky.... I wouldn't even understand enough to know where to start getting it.

Phone cancellations, someone nice there should be able to help you, whether it's putting you back to your original deal or keeping tv and discounting to the offered price.
From what I've heard these people usually say its only £4.99 extra which is true as you will remove the £2.50 no-tv supplement. How your bill has got to £40 though I don't know, unless your earlier offer was coming to an end in which case the advisor was dishonest in not mentioning that.
  • This is why I keep away from any new contracts, unless I'm 100% certain I need it. Another reason to hang up the phone on those telemarketers and service offers.
