iphone update and phone has frozen

Options
I've tried to install the latest iPhone update and it appears to have frozen half way through. I now have a white screen with the apple logo and the bar showing download process is half complete. Is there anything I can do?
I need to make a new list for 2014
think of something to put on it!:rotfl:
Try harder for 2014 as I never managed it in 2012 or 2013

You can try putting it into recovery mode and connecting to iTunes. Instructions at http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US

This will erase all content and settings on the phone so you will need to restore from your latest iTunes/iCloud backup once the phone is restored

Failing that you could book an appointment at a genius bar if you have an Apple store near you

Looks like I'll give it a few days then before updating

Hold down the home button and the power off button on the top until the screen goes blank. It should sort itself out from there. My ipad and hubby's iphone did the same thing

To balance the OP, I've updated my iPad and iPhone, absolutely no problems with the update at all.

Ditto. I've updated 4 devices. Update worked fine, only minor issue was that it seemed to turn off the password autofill in safari but that was easy enough to turn back on

No issue here (this update or any previous).

Mine did the same. Did this and it restarted no problem with the update installed.

Thank you everyone. Linda Mary's solution sorted it. I'll have to remember that for the next update!
