Is Virgin Mobile a decent network?

My contract ends soon and I can't wait to tell T-Mobile to F themselves (they are lying cheats)
I've found a Virgin contract which uses the EE network (to be fair, signal is good for me), are they any good? What do they do when you go over your network data allowance?

I assume by downloads they mean those WAP downloads / text to buy things that people used years ago?
That's the only good thing about T-Mobile, if you go over your data limit they just stop you being able to watch videos on Youtube. I guess I'll give them a ring and see if they could bump it up to 1GB from 500MB if I sign up for a yearly contract. If not I might as well go with Three and get extra texts for less.

I've just posted this response on another thread about this, it may help you decide to go with another provider. Or not.
I live in south Wales and my Virgin coverage has just vanished altogether. I have also spent over an hour on the phone to Customer Services on 0845 numbers trying unsuccessfully to resolve this. Eventually I had to tell them what I think the problem is - Virgin uses the EE network and EE seem to be switching all their transmitters over to 4G and cutting off the 3G and less networks to try to get all their customers to sign up for the more expensive 4G contracts. I suspect the same may be happening across the UK including Cornwall. The Virgin online coverage map showed I should have some service but the EE map shows clearly that there is nothing except 4G coverage now. And Virgin don't support 4G coverage!! Woopsie. Anyway the Indian call centre eventually agreed that they might escalate this but I am not holding my breath, I am just looking for another provider.0 -
I'm with Virgin and not had a problem with them.
Also, if you have TV, broadband, phone, etc the contract is cheaper. I was looking into it and because we have TV, broadband and phone, I save something like £10 a month.

Its the same network that you are using with t mobile. Virgin aren't a real network.

I had cause to return a phone for a warranty repair, unfortunately the fault could not be rectified and a replacement refurbished phone was sent to me. I have no complaints with this procedure. Beats Audio
The three phones they have offered as a replacement come nowhere near, make yor own mind up....

Don't' forget that their obligations are not limited by their warranty, even if it does allow inferior replacements, that I doubt.
As a s supplier, under the SoGA they have to repair or replace within a reasonable time with a same or better. Their warranty cannot overcome the SoGA.
"undetermined time" is obviously not reasonable. As they have already admitted their fault, demand either a better replacement or cash sufficient for buying the same handset.0 -

Well, send them a Letter Before Action saying that you are starting legal actions if they don't fulfill their obligations.
