Accident caused by traffic cone?

When behind a 4x4, van or lorry I generally leave a bigger gap than I normally do so that I can see what's going on infront of them.
If you were following at a safe distance you would have been able to see the cone and react in time.0 -
i dont understand why you all have to get offensive and jumped up either on a forum where ive just asked for some advice,i know the person who rear ends is always at fault.
We're not on the offensive. We're just giving you our view of what happened.. If anything, if's you who is getting on the offence as you don't like what you are being told (accident is your fault)0 -
I know its my fault... i was following about 30ft behind?when somebody slams on their breaks and my car isnt braking effectively, that safe distance becomes a bit pointless, the distance i was driving was what i beleived to be safe,i could see infront of him,as i came around the bend the other side was lined with those tarmac lorries and you couldnt see a thing, thats when i began to slow down to increase the gap and he then slammed the brakes on and ive told you the rest.
"No doubt the OP wont bother to come back." thats not on the offensive, where is the need for that?
Also if the vans on lease Hire then they dont repair the parts, they pay for it when they return it,in this vans case it looked like it had rolled down a mountain anyway.
A rear door is £70 for one of those.i should know i have the same van...0 -
google.co.uk/maps/place/301+Seven+Mile+Ln/@51.2607553,0.3646352,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m2!3m1!1s0x47df49f8f7d8b115:0x8919716390e9a[/url] thats the spot it was on,i had similar distance gaps to those cars that are there.as you can see as you come around the corner, the lorries on the otherside would have taken all my vision up. (i was heading downhill)0

also,i spoke to a body shop man who i collected a bonnet and headlights off today, showed him the picture of the van and he said "id just pop that out and you wouldnt know"....0

Yes - I'm very sorry I failed to answer your question from post #1
where do i stand on the matter of the road cone?
You could offer to repair or replace it - I don't expect they cost too much.
Anything else?0 -
Have you been in touch with the highways agency with regards compensating them for damaging their traffic cone?0

god forbid i be human and make a mistake.atleast ill learn from it unlike you morons who post 15,000 times on a forum.Nice life.
What I don't understand, is why you believe road traffic cones should be positioned on the footpath???0 -
