    Hi,
I received my court order for the Staffordshire University car park from Gladstones yesterday and I'm putting together my defence. Have there been any further developments and can I be provided further help?

I parked in a "hatched bay" but was ticketed for "Not parking wholly in a bay"

My defence needs to be in by next week.
    Thanks.

    You have a PM
My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016). :(

A case I know re DE at this notoriously horrible car park (and allegedly horrid, uncaring Uni by all accounts from victims!) has been stayed by the Court, pending the Beavis outcome in the Court of Appeal. In another case which didn't quite get to Court, despite threats, the OP was issued with 3 POPLA codes in the end when POPLA told DE to issue more! And of course the poster I was helping then won at POPLA x 3 as Chris Adamson found the charges were not capable of being genuine 'consideration' at all.

Would not be as easy at IAS now though for new PCNs.

But no-one should be paying these and everyone needs to complain to the Uni, Mark Hattersley, not least asking questions like why was the contract not put out to tender and what is the relationship (if any) between 'apparent DE fan' Linda Degg and DE? And why are students and staff being ignored when they complain and bullied, having to live in a regime of blame, scared of a firm that is actually allowing people to park in disabled bays and across fire escapes for a fee.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

After submission of an amended defence and warnings given to the University that a senior member of staff would be called to court to explain the purpose behind the "car park enforcement" the case against iseeincode has been withdrawn.

It would seem that communications between DE and the University are lacking somewhat and neither side has a clear grasp of the objectives of the other.

After much support from HO87, the University finally told DE to withdraw the case.

This has been a far from pleasant experience but with HO87's help we won against a company that clearly take the parking laws into their own hands.

My advise to anyone in similar circumstance is to seek help on forums like I did or get professional law advise. For me near the end it got more about principle then anything else.

Once again, thank you HO87 for everything!

Also, many thanks to everyone one else who has posted, for some reason I did not receive through any emails alerting me to new posts so apologies for not replying.

DE's objectives are simple: To make as much money as possible by issuing parking charges whether with merit or not, and pursuing them to ridiculous lengths.

The Uni's objectives were probably to offload the problem of parking management without looking too hard at the reputation of the low-life they contracted.

    Shame on them both.

Don't forget that DE and the university have a very close relationship. This from a 2010 newspaper article:-

    detail/story.html#community

THREE law graduates are hoping to transform the negative image of parking enforcement by setting up an 'ethical' alternative to cowboy clampers.

Now the trio have been awarded a university enterprise fellowship to help get their Stafford-based firm District Enforcement off the ground.
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?

    Indeed.

Only two of the original directors - Messrs Kurpil and McKie remain. Mr Dobbie returned to graphic design/printing or something allied some while ago.
