Was it zimbabwe or somewhere near south afirca where they were predicting inflation at the rate of 100,000 % by the end of the year?
If they have ISA's.... hehe0 -
I don't know the definitive answer or where you'd find it. Products and rates have changed so frequently it may prove very hard.
However ISAs were introduced in April 1999 when IR were 5.25% and apart from a 12 month period from Feb 2000 when they were 6% they have never been higher than they are now - so my guess is the high rate ones offered in April by A&L, Barclays and Abbey are likely to be the highest ever offered. Happy to be proved wrong though.0 -
from memory tessa rates hit a high of 12/13% ish, tessas paid very good rates( until it was known that they were going to be made defunct) because withdrawals were more restrictive than isas ( from memory) and they were designed for longer term saving.0

We managed to get in on the A&L 8.1% ISAs back in March when they were competing with Abbey(?) who were offering 8% to beat A&L previous offering of 7%.
I think they were going for a tit for tat to get the "we've got the highest ISA" promo.
I've not seen a higher cash ISA than that yet.
Here's hoping for next March.0
