I'm thinking of upgrading from my Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 & the Moto G seems a great value phone, but are there any as good at the price?

Not bothered about 4G but do want a SD card slot as I already have a 32GB card.

Be aware that the Moto g doesn't like class 10 cards. Mine keeps 'losing' the sd card and shortcuts to apps on the card. While turning it off and back on again restores it for a while, it means re doing all the short cuts each time.

It appears to be a common problem, apparently resolved by using a card no higher than class 6, so I've just purchased one to see if that makes a difference.

Mines only class 4 so shouldn't be an issue, I take it from the lack of replies that it is the best phone for the money?

Aside from the issue with the card, it's a great phone. I couldn't find a better one for the price for my wife so she has the 16gb original g.

    It's great value under £150.

I can't think of any other phone that's as good in that price range.

That's why Google doesn't like microSD expansion... you shouldn't really be installing apps on the microSD card as it can get corrupted or stop working and cause instability. I'd keep it just for media storage.

IMO, if you need lots of apps, buy a phone with enough onboard storage in the first place.

It's great value, despite the camera, but do also consider the £229 Oneplus One, as it seems to be overlooked quite often! It doesn't match the Moto G on price, but it arguably trounces it on value. No MicroSD slot, however - at £229, you'll only have 16GB to play with.

Whichever way you go, don't forget Quidco/TCB! ;)

There was some talk on another forum of the flip speed (turning the screen from vertical to horizontal) being slower than the original Moto G.

I have spent half an hour searching for this but haven't been able to turn it up.

Has anyone got a reference to this article please? Sorry to be a bit hi-jaccy but this may be of interest to other.

If it was HUKD you read it on, the only other thing I remember reading at the time was on the xda developers forum:

Moto G 4G LTE is slower than 3G 8GB version?
