Also I don't like the way that me as a taxpayer is paying you for your investment - but thats me and I don't blame you for taking advantage of the HB because the housing system is very much broken.

So you have written to ASDA and complained about them accepting cash from the tenants for their groceries seeing as it is tax sourced ? Ridiculous comment.

Seems to me a lot of people are reading this thread through green eyes.

Ridiculous analogy. People on benefits require sustenance to survive. In some instances the taxpayer funds that. Fair enough. They need somewhere to live and the taxpayer sometimes support this. Fair enough.

The taxpayer shouldn't have to fund artificially high rents to landlords to prop up their portfolio of two dozen properties because they want to get rich. If the housing benefit is not enough to cover the rent then reduce the rent.

Maybe the government could impose a 125pw cap on ALL housing benefit. Watch the sht hit the fan then.

No, because I find supermarkets accepting money from people receiving benefits acceptable - solely because people need to eat in order to survive. You have taken my comment and turned it around, this a completly different argument.

In my head in an ideal world would be that the councils across the country would build enough social housing in order to house everyone in the country instead of selling the housing stock to BTL's for landlords to abuse and make money from people receiving HB's. This way HB could be abolished.

I may be naive and living in a la la land, but my point I believe is valid. The building of social housing to house everyone would take decades, not only housing but infrastructure to go with it too such as schools, hospitals, transport, etc etc... and an enormous amount of money the council don't have, but still acheivable, but taking the argument aside, building would provide jobs across a huge spectrum in order to produce more tax income.

I am saying that I didn`t know about these things --- if you look at the subject of the thread I am basically posting all of this stuff as a warning to others so that they don`t get caught out

why empty for 2 years --- well that`s simple --- one for example --- it was burgled just after it became empty --- the entire central heating system which I had put in after I bought it was stolen ---- it was re-installed on the insurance ---- shortly afterwards the thieves were in again --- this time they took the the boiler , most of the kitchen which was new and all of the flagstone flooring after they had ripped up the lino etc -- fixed on insurance
tenanted again for a couple of months -- he left and it was trashed and burgled again and this time insurance refuse to pay ---- I couldn`t afford to do a refurb and decided to leave it empty until I had the cash
this in not about basic knowledge because this shouldn`t be happening --- so potential landlords --- beware because this is what can happen

I was managing 60 flats for a London based landlord and 50 flats for an Irish based landlord
they were experienced well seasoned businessmen --- but they have been caught out by the credit crunch and yes they blame tenants for not paying their rents --- if the tenants paid their rents we would not have a lot of the problems that we have

Someone said wait until the tenant is 8 weeks in arrears and the council will pay direct --- why should the tenant live free for 2 months because the council will not backdate the payments to cover the first two weeks of arrears --- and worse than that --- the tenant will move to the next town and do it again because they are after the 8 weeks rent money each time that they do this --- 4 times a year -- that`s a lot of free money which they won`t pay tax on because it is stolen

you say that you don`t like your tax being used to make profits for landlords --- well ---- if there were enough properly paid jobs out there then the council would not be needing to pay HB on such a scale

what needs to be done here initially is for Federal Reserve Bank to be nationalised . According to a London based barrister , under the Federal Reserve Act is a provision that allows for the US government to buy back the the Fed `s charter for 4 billion $. That fee should be paid and the charter revoked and a new US dollar should be launched by the treasury Department With the dollar fixed , the vampires would not be able to crash and de-stabalise it .
Cancel the $ 10 trillion debt to the Iluminati and Bildeberg bankers . Debt obligations to foreign governments and small bond-holders should be honoured at par . If you download the list of the last 150 attendees of the last Bilderberg meeting the was held outside London last year you will see that there are a lot of the big bankers in attendance and the CEO`s of the biggest companies on this planet --- and they are probably not there to discuss the well being of the rest of us !!!!!!
Seize the gold that was stolen by these fraudsters .
Prosecutions to follow of fraudulent bankers etc .
What would follow would be a ten step proposal which President Obama and the congress could enact to lift the $ 14 trillion debt from the backs of future generations of Americans . These should be done as part of a single sweeping financial reform bill .
I could tell you the ten steps but too complicated .
Most of the rot that has caused the financial tsunami was started within the American banking system and this is what has contaminated the entire global economy and this is what needs to be addressed .
When and if this happens , the world may become a better place --- if you have noticed the fact that the big companies are employing people on short term contracts , zero hour contracts and minimum wages -- that can`t be right --- and more and more automation --- I don`t smoke but how can they get away with dropping the price of cigarettes slightly but only putting 19 in the packet and then putting the price up the following month !!!
There was nothing really wrong with property prices doubling in price every ten or twelve years because wages were keeping in line --- but not any more --- wages are falling well behind so that the big boys can get even richer and the profits that people could make out of their properties in order to provide a pension by downsizing for example -- well those days are gone --- we are returning the Victorian era !!!
So to recap ---- better education --- less greedy capitalist employers --- get people back to work and there would not be such a burden on the taxpayer .
My first employer saw me take off a total of 2 weeks sickness in 23 years and when I was freelance for 12 years I didn`t even take off half a day
sick leave --- throwing sickies --- you are either too sick to work or you should not take off the time and sick leave--- well that`s not an entitlement -- you are either sick or you are not !!
Let`s try and create a country with some backbone so that people can earn a good living and enjoy life a little bit more .
Who was it who called me a looney
so what is wrong with the above .
If anyone needs to know more just PM me and I can tell you more but it wouldn`t be fair to post everything that I now know on here because it would be like force feeding people !!!

You owned over 20 houses. You don't get to complain about greedy capitalists or big boys taking advantage of prices going up faster than wages.

wakey wakey and take a look at what the bankers have done to all of us
    get real !!!
the credit crunch practically happened overnight because someone decided it was time to screw us all further into the dirt and lift out billions !!! Just analyse for yourself what happened and it`s plain for all to see
lizard people --- well I just keep an open mind --- who actually knows the whole truth
trillions and triliions of planets out there so it may not be so far fetched --- try telling people in the 15 th Century that we would put man on the moon !!!!

You may try to help the tenants but you didn't buy 20 properties to 'help' people. You brought 20 properties to line your own pockets. Please do not make out owning 20 properties is for anyone's benefit but your own. Unfortunately the market turned & you along with many others lost money on houses.
