Is there some on-line utility that I can use to obtain the BT cabinet number that my home phone line is connected through ?

    OK That works
Can you please confirm whether - if Openreach are going to the bother of relocating (and replacing) a cabinet - there is any other reason than a fibre upgrade ?
(Bear in mind that every other cabinet in the area has been upgraded in the last 18 months - leaving about 50 houses stuck in the 20th century !!)
I am assuming that we will soon be connected !!

All done on a cabinet by cabinet basis- locally not seen a standard cabinet re-located - but have seen Fiber cabinet on opposite side of the road instead of close by on same side of road.

FYI, my cabinet has the number written on the side. Though I only know this for certain after confirming with an online checker.

It does look as if we are getting fibre - although BT deny this! !
( it is a fibre cabinet)
The contractors dug up the pavement then walked away over a week ago - I am hoping that they will return in the near future to finish the job ?

It's possibly one of the BDUK funded cabinets. They generally won't show up on the BT checker until they are live.

Our fibre cabinet was installed and powered months ago -even seen them pulling cables to the new cab.-but absolutely no sign of fibre availability yet.
