Quidco prices more expensive

Has anyone else ever had experience of prices being more expensive through a travel website if you've clicked through from Quidco?
I am getting this right now as I try to book a hotel in Spain, clicking through from Quidco makes the price £70 more expensive. Whereas if I use a different browser or use private browsing mode (ie no cookie set) then I get the cheaper price.
Kind of makes the potential £50-ish cashback pointless.

I've noticed this on some sites. HolidayExtras are particularly bad for it. On other sites such as Expedia and Hotels.com it doesn't seem to make any difference to the price.
As always with these cashback sites you have to be careful and make sure it really is a good deal.0 -
It was Amoma (who I'd never heard of previously) I was using, I thought my mind was playing tricks on me at first but will bear this in mind for all future hotel bookings using quidco.0

You should let Quidco know about this and they will take it up with the retailer. Retailers "see" that you have come through quidco to get to them (in order to process the cashback) and they are not meant to add the cashback back on to their prices.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages, student & coronavirus Boards, money saving boards. I noticed this with car insurance quotes recently."'Cause it's a bittersweet symphony, this life

Yep had this with a Premier Inn booking. A family member booked the same room and date for cheaper and so I always check now before Quidcoing.0

They may be able to see you've come from Quidco, some may simply see that you've come from an affiliate marketeer but wont know if its a cashback type site or a site like MoneySavingExpert
It may be worth talking to Quidco about it and they can review their contract with the merchant but in general there is nothing to stop merchants charging more or less depending on how the customer finds their site.
There was the case a few years ago where it was found that those on iOS/OS X devices saw higher prices first than those on Android/Windows. Its likewise been said that return customers see different prices than first time visitors.
As websites become more sophisticated and analysis of data more practical then differential pricing will become ever more common.0 -
Didn't even realise this was happening and now I've found you gain nothing from some car insurance and hotel sites. I've sent a message to Quidco to ask them about it!0

Hi,
Just researched buying some internal door handles (Serozetta Cuatro) and found that HAndles4Homes had the best deal. Just about to order when I remembered my Quidco Account. Big surprise that Handles4Homes were a merchant and offering a further 6% cashback.
Well, how disappointing, the basket of 11 handles and 3 bathroom handles ended up being around £35 more using Quidco after all discounts applied. Feel this is a bit of a con if the tracking URL that Quidco sends routes you to more expensive pricing.
I guess if "It seems to good to be true ... it is" seems to be in play.
Oh ... and just to add insult to injury there doesn't seem any way of registering this type of complaint on the Quidco website.

I've just noticed an elevated price on magazines direct, so I've sent quidco a message through their support section - there's a bit for queries that don't fit into the sections listed0
