  • Does anyone know whether it is physically possible (assume all is in order elsewhere) to complete by September when we don't have our mortgage offer yet. Like I said, lots of variables involved but assume the mortgage offer is the only thing outstanding and everyone is ready to go otherwise!

Well, everything's in place for us except the mortgage offer, and we've been told we can complete on the 22nd, provided we have the offer by this Thursday...so I'd say yes, it is possible.

I've not been checking things for a week or so as we thought our sale was going to fall through, but things are back on track.

I notice the online portal now says the dates they're working on which is helpful.
  • Thanks lizebert, maybe there is hope after all!

What date are they working on currently?

Please note we are currently experiencing high volumes of applications. We will contact you regarding any referred Approvals in Principle/referred full applications with our lending decision within 3 working days.
Once we have accepted a full application and you have paid any required valuation fees, your case will be allocated to an underwriter - we are reviewing applications received on 29th July 2014. The underwriter will then contact you to request any further information we need to process your application. Please note we are currently working on post received on 18th July 2014.

We are working hard to process cases as quickly as possible. We will send you updates at key stages as we process your application via text message. Thank you for your patience.

Personally, I emailed the underwriter handling our case and she said she'd got it sorted in the next couple of days.
  • Oh dear, looks like they're even further behind now.
  • Got a phone call from the underwriter this afternoon, the valuation/survey has been instructed, and a letter is on it's way to me asking for three payslips.

My application keyed in on 1st August so it seems that some application's are ahead of the 29th. I applied via my local PostOffice branch 80%LTV 2yr 2.89%.
