Car dealers

Spent most of the day mooching around car dealers but came to the conclusion that I wasn't particularly convinced about buying second hand. Ended up where I had anticipated being some time ago when I started thinking about driving, in a Kia dealership. Very keen on a new Kia Rio so will phone round the other 2 dealers on monday and see if they can match internet prices etc.
Yes, as i said, when my dad went looking it didnt seem much of a push to get a new one over a 3 year old one.
Have a look at the Ibiza 1.4 Toca - comes with NAV, 16 inch alloys, air con, trip computer, etc for £9995 - discounted down from £124950 -

Had a look at a few Seats but wasn't terrible impressed sitting in it I have to say. I think if I end up not getting a Kia it will likely be a Seat though. Looks a nice car for the money.0 -

My Dad also had a 1.5 tdi Modus a few years back. Great wee car.0 -
Just as an update, local dealers seem very inclined to match internet pricing which means a £2000 or so saving on list price. Not too bad and makes a change from things being generally more expensive here!0

as a mechanic who has been working on cars for the best part of 20 years in main dealers and the last 10 years in a small garage I service and repair all makes daily and believe me every make has its problems, but I would recommend a mid sized petrol Toyota or Honda. they will cost more to start with but will be worth with it with less repair costs in the long term.0

For anyone interested I ordered a new Kia Rio, which I might get the end of next week if I'm lucky!
Thanks for all the advice, was most helpful and appreciated.0
