Travel republic accommodation deal

On. Sunday I saw a accommodation deal to some 4* accommodation in Maspalomas Gran Canaria. 14 nights all inclusive for two people £411. I rang Travel Republic asking if that was the correct price and the lady said yes as sometimes firms would pass on special offers. So I said yes we would have it. Paid a £1 deposit and received the confirmation email. However today I received an email saying the price was wrong and should have been £2000+ then another came through saying £1700. Options being paying the difference, or getting a refund as per their terms and conditions. I think this is totally wrong as even when we booked it it was still showing as having some left. Please advise their is no way we can afford that out holiday is ruined. Surely they should honour it

they only have to give you a full refund of your £1
from their Ts&Cs
We endeavour to ensure that the details of all products, including prices, displayed on our websites are accurate. However, given the high volume of flights, hotels and other products offered it is inevitable that, in exceptional cases, mistakes will arise. We cannot accept liability for these errors. This is because the information which you are shown is being transmitted effectively live from the relevant travel provider’s IT system.
Notwithstanding the above, in cases where details other than price are materially incorrect we will offer you the choice of continuing with your booking or cancelling with a full refund of money paid on that booking only.
That indeed would have been a great bargain worth of a place on the "Reporting Bargains" thread (which you have posted on) but mistakes happen0 -
Hi at bailey1957,
I can't really offer much advice at the moment, just to say I'm in the same sort of situation.
Found an all inclusive hotel deal in Gran Canaria last Wednesday - booked it, waited for the booking confirmation which came through fine, so I booked flights with easyjet.
Then get an email 6 days later saying sorry it was mispriced and have to pay £1000 extra or cancel! I am currently disputing with them and trying to argue for my money back for flights if they won't honour the booking. There's nowhere else nice that we can afford to stay in GC so the flights are basically useless to me and I have to pay minimum of £140 to easyjet change them to somewhere else.
GRRRRRRR!!!
Will let you know if I get anywhere with them, but I'd say if you haven't booked anything else like flights just cancel and find something else - I don't trust them at all now having read so many horror stories from other people so think you're better off booking with someone else in honesty!0 -
Hi
Just to update, having chased Travel Republic to keep chasing the accommodation provider (Serhs) the provider has actually to our surprise agreed to honour the original price paid, rather than compensate us. Thought this would take ages to resolve but to their credit TR sorted within 3 days and we have ended up with what is a very expensive holiday (we have checked prices elsewhere and it really should be a lot higher price) for a very bargain price!! :j
I guess they prefer this to having to compensate us. Bit nervous about everything being ok when we get there but have it all in writing so hopefully all will be well!0
