You should see my ETX account. If for some reason the Alibaba stock drops a lot then I'd loose all the money I made on IG plus more.

There have been times I've looked at my accounts and wished I'd never got involved.

But if you want to do it then my fave over ETX and IG (the only two I've used) is IG. The interface works better and it feels cleaner to use etc. Start small with a few hundred investment and low value bets. All I did originally was look for LSE stocks that varied a bit every day but didn't change a lot. So you can make £10-20 here and there. It built me up to the level where I was happy to put more cash in.

I made a LOT of money on Alibaba, most of that cash comes from them and also on TSB. A little comes from stocks like BT, RBS and a few others.

Like I said, I look for stocks that move a bit over the day but don't go crazy. I'm happy to close a bet for a small profit, don't get greedy!

There are plenty of people out there that know a lot more than I do.

I have an advantage in being full-time self employed. I just sell out of print books and magazines on Amazon. It allows me to keep a close eye on the price fluctuations. If I was at work all day it would not be as easy.

Edit to add: this is gambling. It is not investment. Apparently only between 10 and 20% of SB accounts make money and its at least as addictive as any other form of gambling.

is there any one active and done long term spreadbetting as also had issue with their spread betting company
Need urgent advice as got issue with my spread betting company
