sorry you are incorrect actually they do have both arabic and english in those countries that i have mentioned and they are genuine / legitimate .0 -
I think the problem is that different countries ban certain chemicals, so what is for instance banned as dangerous in the UK is perhaps allowed overseas. many potentially carcinogenic products are not licensed for use in the UK, but as they are cheap they are often added to products sold overseas where restrictions do not apply. That's basically what the snopes story is suggesting.
Conversely I must stick to gluten free food and it is very confusing that some products when manufactured overseas (like Pringles) might be gluten free but when they are manufacturered in the UK factory that same flavour will contain gluten. They are completely different products, but in the same can and sold alongside each other in the supermarket.
i agree undoubtedly some of our 'reputable' companies do change their formulations and produce an inferior product because they can get away with less stringent controls and it saves them heaps of money.0 -
According to the BBC, none of the dodgy batch is in shops - only found at car boots etc.0

wendy that was my interpretation and I reported that information in good faith not to discuss who is right or who is wrong, besides how would anyone know if they are legitimate unless the product undergoes tests? judgement cant be drawn by its appearance...0

I just just phone some more info to dispel any speculations
Trading Standards officers have seized around 140 of the fake packs from market stalls and discount shops.
It is believed the contaminated toothpaste was imported from China.
A spokesman for GlaxoSmith-Kline, which makes the genuine Sensodyne, said: "These fake products are illegal and have no connection with GSK."
Authentic tubes of Sensodyne have packaging written in English and only come in 45ml and 75ml tubes.
Sensodyne Mint toothpaste is white in colour whereas the fake version has a green paste.
Both the genuine Sensodyne Original and the fake toothpaste have a pink coloured paste.
The affected batch code is PROD 07 2005/EXP 08/2008.0 -
I wonder if this 'fake' toothpaste is tested on animals? Or is it just certain 'genuine' GSK products that are tested on animals?0
