I'm a bit conservative about this. I'd always wear tights unless I'm on holiday or in the back garden! I'm 52.

The best ones I've found are Boots natural tan sheer. (think there are three in the packet). I also wear M&S stay fresh sheer or oiled look. Nice to wear but I find they ladder more quickly than the Boots ones.

    Enjoy the day.

Pretty Polly do some nearly-bare hold-ups, too, if like me you're not a fan of wearing hot sweaty nylon tights in the warm weather.

I hate tights but for occasions I wear hold up stockings.

At my brothers wedding 30 yrz ago I had to get tights from ye olde village shop, what a mistake, they kept falling down:rotfl: so by evening of they came.

I've worn peeptoes with tights,no problem.

At the very least you need the ones without the toe seam.Although, unless out have toes a lot lighter than the tights (!),toeless tights are designed for this very situation.

Tights, absolutely! A graduation is, initially, quite a formal do and you have a smart dress.

    I completely agree.

When I read the title I thought OP was asking for everyday wear but for a formal occasion like a wedding or graduation I'd wear tights although I really dislike them myself. I have been known (for example in very hot weather) to wear them to the 'formal' part of the day and then take them off later. Personally I wouldn't wear tights with open toed shoes it smacks a bit of 'socks with sandals' to me.

For everyday wear, I find normal tights very prickly and uncomfortable and ideally I'd go from opaques or trousers in the winter to bare legs in the summer. What I do is start using a bit of fake tan mixed with body lotion about May time to get a bit of colour and keep using it after my holiday to make my tan last longer.
