Which competitions have worked on you?

Have you won things from competitions that you would never have bought before, absolutely loved them and now buy them all the time?
I haven't been comping for long, but I recently won the book "The Secret Place" by Tana French. It's a book in a genre I never would have bought for myself but it was one of the best books I've ever read. I've now bought the rest of her books!
Which wins have converted you?

I've done this with books: I won the first two books in a fantasy series I had never heard of and enjoyed them so much I promptly bought the third one as well.
I haven't yet bought anything else as a result of a competition win but, as I only tend to enter competitions for things I really want, I think it's probably only a matter of time!Back after a very long break!0
