What about a bit of both? Seem to remember Broseley do a large MCS wood stove that can be linked directly to a combi boiler.0

If the capital upfront is a problem there are companies installing biomass boilers under similar terms as the rent a roof schemes.
So you get the boiler for free they get the RHI payments and I think you have to buy the wood off them to.
It is worth looking into as maybe a cheaper alternative to oil."talk sense to a fool and he calls you foolish" - Euripides0 -
I think the OP has got a bit confused. RHI is seperate from Green Deal but you do need to do a green deal assessment to determine insulation needs and the ammount of RHI payments that would be due. What about a bit of both? As regards funding your biomass boiler the only option would appear to be a bank loan.0 -

Rent a boiler is clearly not allowed under RHI as the householder must own the boiler
Rhi payments can be paid to the owner or occupier, so companies rent the room the boiler is in and co-occupy the property with the owner. This means they can fit a boiler free to the customer, the customer allows the company to co occupy part of the house for 7 years.
So yes it clearly is allowed because it's happening..."talk sense to a fool and he calls you foolish" - Euripides0 -
