Used Car problems

Hoping for some advice. I recently bought a used car from a local dealership which promise, and I quote 'The best after care service in town'. Well I beg to differ. Within a 2 weeks of buying the car I realised that there was a knocking sound on braking, and that the electric seat riser was broken on one side. Booked it in under warranty and apparently both problems were resolved. The knocking they claimed was from the brake pads hitting on the calipers??
Within 2 days of having the car returned the knocking noise is back, the seat riser just seems to have had a bodged repair job and still doesnt rise evenly, and now there are additional problem, the heated front windscreen doesn't work, there is a problem with refueling where the nozzle cuts out as if the tank is full even though its empty and I've discovered the back number plate (which they put on!) is also bodged and only secured on one side.
Feel like I've been sold a right dog of a car and paid top dollar too. The aftercare and warranty and worthless if they don't actually fix the problems.
Any advice on what I can do? I know I signed paperwork and didn't thoroughly read it (yes I know, stupid error!) but surely I cant have signed away statutory rights? What rights would I have in this instance? I am upset as we blew all the savings on this car and had nothing but trouble with it
The salesmen are very nonchalant and fairly disinterested. I don't like confrontation so I'm probably a fantastic customer for them. Interestingly when I was taking the car in last time there was another customer complaining and asking for reassurances that her car actually had been fixed this time as she'd reported the problem prior to purchase and they hadn't done anything to it.

Make/model/age/mileage?
Reason I ask is that on a newer, low mileage car, it could be unreasonable.
The higher the age/mileage, the more likely this could be seen as wear and tear (things break on cars as they get older)
This isn't my area of knowledge, but whoever does look into it will need the info I've asked.💙💛 💔0 -
Thanks for replying, its a 56 plate Focus C Max. 94000 on the clock so I'm guessing it wouldn't apply.0

'The best after care service in town'
Bet if you queried that, they'd just say "Yes.....", "just not in this town".
Cowboys. Just drive a tank through their showroom.0 -
Another customer was complaining about poor service/lack or repairs too?
Forget the tank, just nuke 'em.

Ha ha, I like your thinking General query!0

Ha ha, I like your thinking General query!
Method 1. If you get no further, I suggest parking your afforementioned ve-hikkle (as those darn Yanks say!) in the most obstructing way you can to hinder the employees access to their own (dodgy) workplace and declare you ain't moving it until it's fixed FREE OF CHARGE.
Method 2. Wear suitably bright fluorescent large sandwich board declaring how **** this company is and walk up and down their forecourt all day waving placards, nobody likes bad press.
Sorted, next case

TBH I can't see them doing a huge amount on an 8 year old car with almost 100,000 miles. Id expect them to fix the major issues.0

My problem is that when they say they've 'fixed' it the problems remain. Its a diesel so the mileage is about average for the age. I appreciate its not a new car but I paid 4K for it (outright rather than on finance) and feel completely let down.0

£4k for a 2006 car??? I would have thought £2500 would be a fair price.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

Nozzle cuts out - isn't this a problem with the nozzle rather than the car? After all it's the nozzle doing it not the car. I always find though on my Focus if I put the unleaded nozzle in too low or at an angle it does the same.
Number plate = just whack another screw in it or put something sticky behind it - not the end of the world.
I wouldn't say any of these particular issues could deem the car to be a dog. Even if the car is 8yr old with nearly 100k on the clock.
Of all the issues the knocking is what needs investigating.0
