    I don't think that p4u / d-a-p can bar phones (unlike networks).

They can. If a dealer advises a network (more than likely the one it was sold on) that their phone has been lost/stolen, then the network will blacklist it. This then blacklists across all other UK networks.

OK thanks, well i just thought they have sent me a phone without me passing their credit check, i am in no contract with them, so it's not my fault they sent me a phone for nothing, just don't know what the consequences will be haha.

They didn't send it for nothing, they sent it as part of a contract. If the contract is cancelled they will charge you a special retail price for the handset (hint, it won't be at a discounted rate). Expect an invoice for a very expensive phone, or even charged to your card if they have the details.

    From the T&C's posted:
If we deliver goods to you (other than on a standalone basis) and you do not enter into the associated network agreement or you cancel your agreement AND do not return the goods (as appropriate) to us we will charge you the retail price of the items delivered to you. Our price list is available on request.

P4U are the devil incarnate, they will chase you to Hell if you owe them money.

P4U can't trash it unless they go for CCJ.

That'll be a first! The trashing is completed without any requirement for a CCJ the service is provided by the airtime retailer and can also have a CIFAS fraud flag for good measure too.

What service? P4U don't provide any service and don't report to CRAs.
The service provider rejected the OP "as the credit check hasn't gone through on their system"
  • Thanks for your replies, they refused my credit solely on an address mix up not because i have bad credit, I will return the phone as it isn't worth the hassle, I asked the question because someone who works it that industry said I could possibly do it when I told them my situation so figured I best check.
