It's now cheaper to call abroad while roaming in EU than while in UK

So, with the new EU caps on calls and texts whilst roaming, it now seems it is cheaper to use your UK mobile phone whilst roaming in Europe to call/text the UK, than it is to use your UK mobile phone whilst in the UK to call an EU country!

For example, Tesco mobile:

Calls from UK to Estonia = 40p/min
Calls from Estonia to UK = 18p/min

Texts from UK to Estonia = 20p/text
Texts from Estonia to UK = 5p/text

That's 55% and 75% less whilst roaming - using the same SIM and same airwaves.

How can that possibly be justified? And is there ever likely to be any parity?

Logically, you would expect it to cost a little bit more to use a UK SIM on a foreign network - not more to use a UK SIM on a UK network.

Logic and Brussels are incompatible things.

Neither are their directives and market economy - as a direct result of luck of logic.
