No Weekly E-mail Received !!

  • Hi folks,

There have been a lot of changes in the last couple of months and that includes the system we use for sending out the weekly Tip. I'm sorry that the Tip is not getting through and I can assure you that we're working on it.

As you can imagine with a site of our size, we receive thousands of e-mails a day and it takes a bit of time to get through them all.

However, if you could send another e-mail to the furtherhelp address with the subject entitled "attn Webmaster - Not getting Tip", I'll ensure it's looked into immediately.

    Thanks,

Sent an email as requested on 19/7/07, but no reply and still no weekly email. I do not know if you are not receiving my emails or just ignoring them. It will not be the same email address as I use for this forum but another one from the same isp. Can someone look into this for me?
    Thanks

I've not had the e-mail for what seems like months now. I try to sign up and it tells me I'm already signed up, I unregister and then register again and the site tells me I will get e-mails and I still don't. I keep checking junk mail but nothing is getting trapped there. Have just signed up using a different e-mail account - fingers crossed it will get through now.

The gremlins are back again as NO e-mail this week. It would seem that since the site has been updated and tweaked people are experiencing more problems like these, albeit faster.
  • just noticed that you are having problems after posting a similar query. I received them every week for about a year & all of a sudden they are very hit & miss. I have been in touch with the provider who tell me that it is not them. Martin, please help as we are missing out

    Hi Folks,

I've asked the techie team to look at this.

First of all to correct a couple of myths

No changes to the site impact the email. The email send out system is a separate system - so any upgrade to the site and servers or look really have no impact.

Frankly I want everyone to get their email. Yet sometimes the sheer number of emails we send (1.4 million) and the content (free stuff, cheaper stuff) come very close to what spam emailers try and send out. This means we have a hard job getting it through sometimes. On occassion we may be blocked by a whole email (e.g. everyone with yahoo emaiL) and then we have to get in touch with them to get re-'white-listed' as good guys.

I will ask the techies to personally look at your cases- but my suspicion is something in between is blocking them.

I haven't had an email for months!!
  • Hi folks,

Could those of you still not receiving the Tip please PM me with your Tip e-mail address, your ISP and also your e-mail client (Outlook, Thunderbird, Outlook Express, Hotmail, Yahoo etc)? This should circumvent any communication problems we may have between our ISPs and I'll then look into it personally.

  • Hi folks,

I'll update here when I've found out anything new.

AOL users - for some reason last week, AOL stopped accepting our Tip. They are investigating at their end as it seems fine from ours.
