Virgin mobile....untold problems

Having a few issues with Virgin mobile today

I'm on a virgin package myself with a phone etc

Bought my teenage daughter a SIM only plan for 18 pounds per month that includes unlimited calls..texts..data

Now for some unknown error the account hasn't been set up properly and all the calls and texts have been charged at normal rates. The bill this month is £101 pounds.

Now, been on the phone for about 45 mins today and they say a error has been made and they can do nothing about it, I MUST PAY THE 101 pounds bill and they will issue a credit for following bills.

Now I find this totally unacceptable....Ive gotta pay about 5 times the normal bill because they messed up ???

What are the opinions here

    Wow that really is terrible.

When I took out my sim-only deal with them they also screwed up my tariff, giving me less minutes, texts and data than they were meant to for the same amount of money. I caught it on the first day when I checked my allowances and called them up and they fixed it right away. I think something very similar happened to you but you caught it much later...

You say they'll issue a credit for the following bills; does that mean if you pay now you'll effectively be refunded? Personally I'd be tempted to do that if you have £101 available without having to pay interest.

Their complaints procedure is set out here http://www.virginmobile.com/vm/media/pdf/Complaint_code_Jan_11.pdf
It talks about an online form for emailing them. I can't seem to find this, the only one I find assumes you want to talk about home services and I don't see an option for mobile. There's also a snail-mail address you could use (remember: keep a copy and send it signed-for if you do this)

Keep in mind also that not paying this bill could result in a late payment marker on your credit file - another thing to fight about.

All the companies are like that. One thing I will say though is this. I rang twice recently and both times were to a UK call center, both times the technicians were friendly and both times helped or tried to. It makes a pleasant change.
