Sorry if this isn't what you want to hear but as far as I know, you can't bleach henna from your hair, it chemically bonds to your hair and can't be removed, you have to grow it out :( There is an excellent forum here where you will find a tonne of info on bleaching, dyeing and maintaining bright hair. If you do decide to try bleaching, I'd suggest cutting a small section from the underside of your hair, or save your "plug hole" hair for a few days, that way you can check the bleach's efficacy without frying your hair. HTH xx

Thanks :) Yeah I'd heard that, but then also that lush henna is different to the normal henna, and it's all very confusing... lol.

From what I can tell bleach on normal henna is a big no no the metallic salts mean it can literally melt you hair :|
Lush henna doesn't have these metallic salts, so apparently its the same as bleaching virgin hair, but like you said that henna sticks so blonde never being achievable.
But then I'm not aiming for blonde, so it makes it even harder to research.
I did find that the ones containing indigo (like the one I use) can make your hair green when you bleach it... but I do want to dye it green so that isn't such a bad thing...

But yes definite strand test jobby. Little sis wants her ends bleaching again so will just do a strand test on mine when I do hers :)

OOHH! I've had a morning of googling and apparently Colour B4 can be used to remove henna successfully... guess what I'm going to do.... :D

    Hi everyone,

Not sure if anyone really recognises me as I hardly ever post on this thread.......this is mainly because I am so bad at sticking to the no buying toiletry thing and so am too ashamed to claim my IN's lol!

Anyway, I do read this thread everyday and feel as if I kind of know you all which sounds daft really, but true all the same. Just wanted some comfort after the weekend of hell that I've just had so I hope you don't mind me gate crashing for a bit :o .......with a non toiletry story too lol!

On Friday at 11.00am I had a phone call from school telling me to come in straight away as my thirteen year old son had suddenly gone blind!!! As you can imagine I panicked and drove like a lunatic to be with him. He was sitting with a teacher in the school office and when he heard me he started crying. I comforted him and said that everything would be ok and took him to the GP. He examined him straight away and told me I had to go straight to eye casualty hospital an hours drive away. We went home briefly to get some things and so that he could change his clothes because he was still in his PE kit. Sorry forgot to mention that he had been playing football when it happened but he didn't have any injuries whilst playing and no tackles at all so a complete mystery as why he should suffer complete visual loss in both eyes for no reason! He says he was walking back to the changing room with his friend when everything just went black. Anyway off we went in the worst driving conditions possible and eventually managed to find one parking space in the hospital carpark.

After seeing an eye doctor he said that he should have an MRI scan but to try not to worry because his pupils were reacting to light. By now it was 1.00pm and so his eyesight had gone for 2 hours so far. I remained very strong throughout for his sake when inside I was a quivering mess making deals with god about how he could take everything I own so that my son could have his eyesight back. Anyway to cut a long horrible story short about 4.00pm I left him to rest and told him to try to get some sleep whilst I just nip to the hospital shop down the corridor to get him some treats. When I came back he had slept for 5 minutes or so and when he woke he had recovered slight vision! He could see black and white shapes and outlines of things. OMG the relief of hearing this news was overwhelming and thankfully within an hour he could see again. Due to many doctors contradicting each other we didn't get the scan that day! We spent the night in hospital and yesterday he eventually had a CT scan which showed everything was ok. He also had blood tests done (only because I insisted). We were allowed home last night and I'm so pleased to say that he is in perfect health and playing his games online with his friends as I type :j

We have to be back in hospital by 9.00am tomorrow for more visual tests and will get the blood test results then too.

I'm sorry for the long post......be thankful.... it could have been much longer lol! I don't normally post anything personal about my life but just felt the need to get it off my chest. I hope you don't mind after all this has nothing to do with toiletries. Friday was the WORST day of my life so far and my husband and I have never felt so stressed and worried. I keep on asking my son if he's ok and can he still see properly as I'm petrified it will go again :(

This just goes to show that there are no guarantees in life. I'm just so grateful that his sight came back! He has had to wear glasses full times since the age of 3 and has a very strong prescription bless him.

Right off now to give him ANOTHER big hug :D

Wow Honey, you have me crying here.
Huge hugs to you and your family.
So relieved he can see again now.
Hopefully the tests will show what caused it so that it won't happen again.

As for toiletries, don't stay away just because you are still buying, come on here and post. It does help. Although my stash is still huge I am working my way through it slowly and knowing I have to report in here does sometimes stop me from buying something I don't need.
    Take care
    CF xx

I had to go out and buy shampoo and conditioner yesterday, I'm house sitting so its really frustrated me, being an Avon rep with a giant bottle at home :( ggrr! I wandered around Boots for ages, really wanted to go to superdrug get some samy but oh well, finally decided on giving the new garnier ultimate blends sleek restorer a go, not tried it yet but it smells like chocolate and the big bottle was cheaper than the small so it's going to last me a while.

    Hi Pixtotts

Are you using an Avon shampoo? Just asking as thought about ordering some or the argan oil shampoo and conditioner and also the oil but just wanted to know if it is any good. Reviews do seem good.

Wanted to try something to try and sort my hair out and what with their being a special offer on it at the moment thought I might give it a try. Mind you it's even cheaper than all the other brands even when it's not on offer.

Afternoon all! Today is a day of distraction.

VERY nervous about blokie flying out to Boston at 5pm so I'm doing all I can to keep myself busy!

I went to the gym for circuits as usual and have had lunch, now to shower before I go for laser on my legs, bit of shopping while I'm in the town too (Royal Wootton Bassett) will kill more time.

He'll touch down about midnight-1am our time, I am calling a friend at 7pm so that should make light work of an hour at least, then I'll probably spend ages obsessively tracking his flight :o

    Trying not to worry.............

Kadison, whereabouts are you? I live not far from RWB too.

    Hey :)
I'm a big big fan of the Argan oil stuff!! (only thing I don't like is the mask just didn't seem to make any difference to me, not like other brands conditioning masks have). I will warn you it is quite a heavy one though, which personally I really like, I think my hair really needed it, my hair knots stupidly easily and has been through a lot of abuse, the Argan oil seemed to really improve it and make it easier to brush, and nice and shiny :D

I'm really fickle when it comes to shampoo and conditioner but we used the Argan oil one from end of Sept when I started until about 2 months ago, so really long time for me.

We've just switched to the Avon Naturals super straight honey and jojoba one which is also excellent! I'd say it has the same sort of properties as the Argan oil one, only it feels a bit lighter.
I still use the Argan oil serum stuff though, comes in a glass bottle too, I don't know why but I really like that lol.

I'd definitely recommend giving them a go! We were impressed with it :)

Pleased to hear your fella landed safely kadison - hope you managed to get some sleep and are feeling more relaxed now.

Wow honey - that must be such a relief for you all! How frightening. I am so happy that your son is well and regained his sight. Hope the doctors can work out what caused it so that it doesn't happen again.

Dolly I hope you enjoyed seeing the cycling today.

I have been to 2 different shops today to try and find the Clinique chubby freebies with Glamour but haven't had any luck yet. Just loads of moisturisers and mascaras. Will continue to keep an eye out though. I already have the watermelon one that I got free with a GWP so am just after the strawberry one.

Have had a number of INS and OUTS the past few days. Will declare tomorrow though as I don't have the things with me now.
