I thought it was not legal to discriminate against any group of people I.E compers?

No, it is fine not to allow compers to enter, although by entering everyone becomes a comper so gets disqualified?

It is against the law to discriminate against anyone because of:
    • age
    • being or becoming a transsexual person
    • being married or in a civil partnership
    • being pregnant or having a child
    • disability
    • race including colour, nationality, ethnic or national origin
    • religion, belief or lack of religion/belief
    • sex
    • sexual orientation
    These are called ‘protected characteristics’.

You’re protected from discrimination in these situations:
    • at work
    • in education
    • as a consumer
    • when using public services
    • when buying or renting property
    • as a member or guest of a private club or association

think you are all jumping the gun a bit

    from fb page

Akufu Absolutely. As long as I'm able to message you, view your profile, you have an avatar your entry is accepted. We had nearly 8000 entries from twitter profiles with no previous tweets and no information at all. It could be absolutely anybody - id rather a genuine person win.

    Sixth Anniversary Combo Breaker
Seems like a cop-out to me. All that traffic, then just cancel the comp on the last day, twice! Will they ever give this prize away?
    Make £10 per day-
    June: £100/£300

Don't think it has been cancelled twice, it was cancelled earlier in June and not restarted.

I for one applaud their stance on this,it proves promoters are wising up to the people who have no interest in the actual product at all and just want something for nothing.

Im positive they wont be bothered in the slightest if people dont enter their promotions again!.

What they are saying is that they do not want the professional comper entering and imho quite rightly so!.

Just as facebook like and shares do not equate into brand loyalty neither do people who enter for anything and everything and ruin a promoters well intended campaign, as has happened here!!!.

I personally know of several promoters on fb who discard L&S entries and indeed any entries from people with the word "comp", "prize winner" and other similar names in their title along with people who insist on putting "MSE" in between their fb name as this identifies them as one of the above.

    Well said :rotfl:

Just as an aside though what is a "professional comper"

How does a company spot those terrible entrants that should be excluded?

    Am I one of them?
