Even if you remove a person/number from the contacts/address book of your phone, can they contact you if they still have you/your number in their contacts/address book?

And if so, is it impossible to prevent someone from contacting you via Whatsapp?
David.

I believe you can block them using settings in whatsapp.

Having said that I'm not sure how it's just something that came up in conversation this weekend. Have a read of the help section on whatsapp as it tells you there about deleting contacts from various different makes of phone.
Its not that we have more patience as we grow older, its just that we're too tired to care about all the pointless drama ;)

    Yes

You can block them by doing this
    Go into Whatsapp settings
    Then Account
    Then Privacy
At the bottom click on Blocked Contacts
There should now be an icon to add contacts to the blocked list (top right)
Click that and select the contacts you wish to block.

Ideally you want to block them before removing them from your phone book otherwise you can't select them from the list to block.

Just checked settings again, and found that 'More' takes you to the 'Block' option.

Thanks folks, messages have overlapped a bit!

I posted this query on behalf of a friend although I also had previously checked this out myself and couldn't find a solution.

However, on my phone, I open a contact as if to message them, press the settings button(3 vertical dots), one of the options is 'More', press it and 'Block' is one of the 2 options there.

    Sorted!
