This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Good Morning chums and a beautiful morning here in Kent .The sun is shining and the sky is blue, and its a new week and month ahead.half the year has gone already time really does seem to fly by just lately.
Well school run as usual this morning then home to do some paperwork as its the end of the month and sorting and settling the bills are on the agenda this morning. No shopping to get though and no washing either as it was all done and ironed on Saturday (feels really pleased with myself :):))even put it away :):))even put it away :) :)
I have the knitting group this morning and I must return some library books as well, so an odds and ends sort of day today.I will probably walk Dds dogs a bit later on to the park as its such a lovely day.
Hope you all have a nice monday and the sun shines down on you all
Cheers chums

I was wide awake and raring to go at 4am so I'm ahead of myself already The week has been planned out – first job today is bookkeeping. The paperwork is next to me on the table, all in date order, I just need to get the info onto the spreadsheet then file it. Then I need to sort mine, which is much less complicated so will take me about ten minutes. Not that the first lot is difficult, but mine is more basic. There's a couple of loads of washing to peg out and a bit of dusting to do. I've crocheted a ladybird but can't get the face quite right, I'll be playing with that today. Then it's onto the garden, which has sprouted a million weeds. I get to test my new hoe
The exercises from the physio aren't enough, I feel like I should have a bigger range of exercises to fix my leg. A sports physio (friend of mr tru's nephew) has recommended different exercises. So I'm going to do those for a couple of weeks and if there's still no change I'll give in and make an appointment with an osteopath. I already have the number of a good one, I just don't want to pay unless I have to

            Morning all

            Morning everyone
Birthday wishes to those celebrating a birthday, hope you have a great day x
Hugs and get well wishes to those that want/need them.
DH up and gone to work early, but not stupid early.
Now light, sun is shining, temperature is warmer than yesterday, and the forecast looks drier after the heavy downpours we had yesterday.
Washing on the line.
Late Lunch/Dinner was food that we took away at the weekend, that we then didn’t eat – burgers, sausages, rolls, salad and chips from the freezer for the menfolk, strawberries that needed using up for dessert. I had jacket potato with some sausages, and salad. Tonight we’ll be having either chicken in sauce, potatoes and veg or pork chops – not sure which.
Weekend was lovely being away although weather let us down – as we had some really heavy downpours both Saturday afternoon and Sunday – neither day was completely dry, but we made the best of it.
Back to work today for me, it’s the start of a new month so could be manic, we’ll have to wait and see. Day goes quicker when it’s busy though.
Have a good day everyone x
Keep safe and well x

Morning everyone another beautiful day here blue skies and sunshine forecast and not too not about 22 degrees wonderful stuff !!!
Washing is in the machine and will dry in no time, going to have an easy cooking day as we have lovely cold brisket from the slow cooker yesterday and that with some salad will be our main meal today, so I think today will be spent on the various plots sorting out whatever crops are ready and getting them either into the freezer or dehydrated to store for later on in the year.
Hope that all poorlies are on the mend and that all our problems are on the way to being sorted out, have yourselves a lovely day, Lyn xxx.0

            Morning all,
Weather promises to be good again today so washing in machine, and this is the last lot from the holiday. Trying to iron as I go along instead oif letting it mount up.
Waiting in for a parcel today, so unless it arrives early won't be going out.
2 grandchildren coming for their tea from school today so will be doing a roast for them (their favourite meal). We didn't have one yesterday, just salad, so it will be nice for us as well.
Himself has a hedge to cut shortly, it seems to have grown so much whilst we were away, and I notice our blue geraniums have now gone over, so I need to trim them back. They fall over the path and look particularly untidy when they have finished. Otherwise garden not looking too bad, of course the grass needs cutting.
Sending healing vibes to all poorlies and hope you begin to feel better.
Have a good day

            Morning all
Everyone has been sent on their way so I'm now enjoying a coffee in the peace and quiet. Everything always seems such a manic rush in the mornings that I will be glad once school holidays are here. I took frozen sandwiches from the freezer for lunches and just hope they will be ok. It definitely saves time in the morning doing them like this.
I have paperwork that needs sorting today - filing and shredding, that sort of thing. I have to be careful not to shred anything OH needs so will put anything remotely needed in a separate pile which OH can then sort through.
candlelight 2013 that's a good idea about the ironing so I think I will give that a try otherwise, come Saturday, it takes me forever to wade through it all
I'm trying to get into a routine with the housework so on Mondays I want to- clean both bathrooms
- do the weekend ironing
- tidy the hallway
- get the washing done

I have an abundance of mushrooms so I was thinking of making a mushroom soup. Now I've never made a soup before but going to give it a go and they can have that later with some HM bread rolls . I don't think that will be enough of a main meal though so will have to think of something else for them to have as well as something for our resident veg dodgers Life would be so much easier if they all ate the same things. Life would be so much easier if they all ate the same things.
Right, enough waffling from me. Enjoy your day everyone, hope it's a good one 2016 Grocery Challenge January: £296.20/£300 February: £262.05/£3000 2016 Grocery Challenge January: £296.20/£300 February: £262.05/£3000

            Morning all,
After a night of heavy rain (which the garden so desperately needed ) today look glorious so the line is full of bedding and the dogs beds are in the washer now, so clean bedding all round for us today.
I'm having a day in home today as I have builders coming to fix a sil in the hatch on DH's workshop, so I shall be busy in the kitchen, yesterday we harvested one of our marrows from the veg patch so that along with a few tomatoes is going to make us a good few jars of chutney, also started my Chilli jelly yesterday, that has been sat dripping all night so I'll finish that off too, I also plan to get some of my herbs in the dehydrator, yesterday we did bramble tips for our rabbits, we used to buy the small bags from the pet shop for £3.50 but since I discovered the joys of owning a dehydrator I do them all myself.
Tea tonight is spag bol with hm garlic bread - this should please DS because he has been pestering me for weeks to put it on our meal plan.
Hope you all have a lovely day. XG.C July £21.09/£1000

            Morning all,
Sistercas, sorry to hear you have had toothache, horrid. Glad you are now on the mend.
Jlhmd, as a fellow fibro, please don't overdo it with the housework. I know how hard it is when you see everything that needs doing but cannot do it all. I too have a list that i like to tick things off, although days do slip if I wake up with the dreaded fibro headaches and rib pain. (Hope you don't mind me saying this, but I overdid it a couple of weeks ago, and was totally whacked all last week, just had to sit most of the week.)
Hello to everyone.
Here too it is a nice sunny day. Hubby is off for two weeks:T
Hubby is going to decorate the study today. I will be tidying up the master bedroom, plus I need to freeze mince and do my monthly budget.
Take care all.
