I'm so glad to find i'm not the only one who was freaked out about those images on facebook! It left me feeling very uncomfortable and slightly nauseated.
I happily watch things like Tru Blood and other things with blood and gore but there was something about that image that just stuck itself in my mind and won't shift! It's worse when i'm tired and it will just keep popping up in my minds eye.

This HAS to be a windup thread. Surely no-one is this gullible?

Given the many thousands that have reposted the picture, clearly they are! But I don't think the OP is being gullible, she knows it is fake but is still affected by it - that is the way all our slightly irrational brains work at times! Plus, given how many of us knew what she was referring to, it shows how powerful the picture is - it doesn't need to be real to have an effect on people.

I have the same problem with the image of the Jaws character in James Bond, a picture of him can send me into a panic attack. I'm sure the real person is a very nice man in real life, but he scares the crap out of me!

I haven't even seen the image and I'm still finding the descriptions disturbing. Not going to google that.

This is just one reason why I unsubscribed from FB. I only used it in the first place in order to contact family members I had not seen or heard from in many years, then I rediscovered the reasons why I had lost contact. Their pages were full of obscene language and comments to each other. So I posted my last message, to the effect that one of them had my personal Email address and they could all get that from him. Result: no further contact, which suits me. I have a wonderful family right here and there is, thankfully, enough distance between myself and the rest.

I find it quite ridiculous that people can be affected by these images, to the extent of imagining that they are suffering from disease or infection. I have a disability and suffer from several medical conditions, but do not let it take over my life, I just get on with it. Some of you here need to get a busier life, perhaps therapy.
I think this job really needs
    a much bigger hammer.
