No longer registered buyer, opened case INR?

Hi there, sorry if a similar question has been asked before...
Basically a month ago I sold an face cream for around £15. Buyer opened a case stating item not received (item wasn't sent tracked) so I asked her to check her local PO, she said nothing had come. I asked again about 10 days ago if it had arrived and she said she'd sent a claim off to Royal Mail but heard nothing. I was just about to close the case and refund but noticed she's no longer a registered ebay member?
Can anyone advise me what to do in this situation? If the case continues and automatically closes or is escalated what happens to the money?
Thank you in advance

I wonder if they made too many INR claims and Ebay closed them down?
I dont think Ebay will give you the details. Maybe worth a call though. If its awaiting their action i would sit it out for a bit.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Just leave the case open, if the Buyer is NARU they should not be able to escalate it & it will time out.
More than likely they've pulled this scam too many times & eBay have binned them0 -
How can the buyer open a claim? I assume you have the certificate of posting or tracking paperwork.0

Hi again all,
Thank you for your replies! I was going to just leave it to run. When the buyer opened the case they were a registered user, now I noticed it said they're not anymore. However, they just replied this morning saying they still want a refund, what do I do now? Is this a scam?

The reason they were able to reply is because they can do that via their own mailbox (by replying to the email). and not by accessing eBay. It gets routed through the eBay messaging system. They will not know whether you got the email or not, because you could have blocked messages from them. Chances are, that if their account was shut down because they are a scammer, they wont take it lying down and will still harass you in order to obtain money.Warning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise. Them being Naru'd may or may not be connected to opening too many cases.
Is the buyer still Naru'd? How did they contact you today?0 -
Once a buyers account is No longer registered, it wont be brought back again, even if it happened while being used fraudulently or beyond the users control. Is the buyer still Naru'd?Warning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise. If an account is Naru'd it can be 'brought back again'.
There are many reasons accounts fall into Naru, some for not paying fees. Once the fees are paid, the account is live again.0 -

Thank you for all your help so far!
I just got an ebay message saying the buyer had responded to the case which is strange, should i issue the refund and close the case or leave it?
Incidentally has anyone had any luck claiming back from the RM for lost parcels?0 -
How long has the case been open? It sounds like a while and must be approaching 30 days. If it is (and clearly the buyer isn't going to escalate as they can do so from day 8) then I would let it time out. It will time out after 30 days of being open.
What did the buyer say in the case yesterday? You don't really give much info to be able to help.0
