Send a complaint by email to the BPA that UKPC appear to be already enforcing before signs are up. And that they are relying on the word 'fine' in a handwritten sign...

It looks like it's on a Tesco notice board, and therefore probably written by one of their eager staff.

I would be very tempted to write a letter to Tesco head office enclosing a copy of this notice and pointing out in no uncertain terms that they cannot by law fine anybody.

Did you ever get a reply to your letter and did Bargepole ever get the word penalty removed ( obviously after waiting :rotfl:) ?

I never got a reply to the Head Office letter I sent, at all. Just the brush off in person from the local Duty Manager and from the dark-haired thick-set battleaxe on the CS desk (you know of her I expect, Hot Bring - she's part of the furtniture!). The points about 'not being able to fine anyone and how exactly do they think it's legal to charge disabled people who, through no fault of theirs, don't manage to display a blue badge' were going so far above their heads that I gave up.

Had fun for a couple of years accidentally seeing the entire pile of 'fine if you qualify - £50 fine if you don't' leaflets somehow falling into the bin every time I happened to glide past with my trolley. Every time... Can't think how that kept happening! Then eventually they stopped using the stupid leaflet.

Do they have a charity/local groups board?
if so then why not copy the pepipoo flyers and physicaly place one or two on their boards?
