Do you currently live at home with parents?
If so surely the obvious thing is to stay in cheap B&Bs the night before 6am starts until you've either got transport or moved....or negotiated later starts which might sound a bit bad before you start the job but do able after a few months once you get to know how the company works.

Crikey I wouldn't fancy leaving home at 4am to cycle 2 hours, work a full day and then a 2 hour cycle home again (or maybe you can train home with the bike).

I think your best bet for gap before you pass your test would be a 4 night B and B or a car share (but 6 am wil make that difficult I expect).

Congrats on the super job offer tho'.

My dad did 25 miles twice a day for 18 months in the early 50's, and that was on a bike of varying age - you will be super fit.
Do you want your money back, and a bit more, search for 'money claim online' - They don't like it up 'em Captain Mainwaring

"Moped" nowadays tends to be used interchangeably with "scooter"...

What is or isn't a moped is legally defined. So if someone says 'moped' I'd assume that they were talking about a 'moped', rather than something else.

...I'd agree that a 50cc bike is not the best choice for main roads, but I don't think that anyone was suggesting that that's what the OP should buy.

Yes, they were. Someone definitely said "get a moped". Someone else said "a moped wouldn't survive a day" on the A52/A38. You said "That makes no sense at all". I pointed out that it did if you were realised they were talking about a moped, which you now agree is "not the best choice" anyway. Hooray!

It's all about research . Research the best routes note it down times and cost include extra 5 mins or so to ensure you have enough time. If your struggling to get in for 6am could you not ask for a later start and finish later. Look at the most reasonable and less stressful way to get in,
