No, I just have a "devil may care attitude", which translates to confidence..... so I get away with it :)

I'm often one rustle through a bin away from looking like a bag lady :)

I'm hoping that I come across as one of those intelligent sorts who has more important things to think about than what they look like  :rotfl:

I figure my money is as good as anyone elses :)

That's the root of my problem... I don't have any :)

You can bring that drill too .... if you think you might like to have a go at random stuff such as gate bolts (not sure if there are any, but I'd like some) .... but don't feel under pressure to do so.

I won't get you fitting floating shelves or anything complex ..... partly because they're not on the list of things I'll be getting .... seller had some, but they were being taken down when I last visited, so they're obviously not staying there. My houses have always been shelf free zones.....

I still don't have any bits :D They were brought over for the weekend (I was offered, but I'll source my own in due course).

I'd be happy drilling (plasterboard) in my own house, but I'm not sure I've had enough practice to start making holes at anyone else's house.

Happy to bring drill if you have bits and want to use it though!

Kirstie programme..... it all relies on having a man with wood tools and experience of cutting/sawing/shaping/joining wood .... and, presumably, a shed big enough to do stuff like that .....

I should learn about wood stuff... maybe I should look for a "Sawing your first piece of wood" evening class.

I'd like to go to some evening classes like that. I'd like to have a go at DIY stuff like tiling and plastering and building things out of wood in a controlled environment.

I'd settle with finding a man with with wood tools and experience of cutting/sawing/shaping/joining wood. They would be welcome to use the garage :)

Petrified .... seen too many deposit scare stories here I guess - and, having never ever seen anybody else's rented place check out/quality and results I've no benchmark against which to measure.

I'm in for nearly £900.... best to make best efforts and all that.

Probably not the moment to tell you we had to deduct 1770 from our last tenant's deposit....
    I think....

Fir tiled the bathroom floor in London. It was good. Pink whistley helped him and needed a bath every night. She loves DIY. Helped with the ceiling too.

Oh Nikkster.... if it turns out hot .... while we might go to the beach I won't suddenly say "let's go swimming". It won't happen, so don't feel you'll suddenly find you should have brought a swimming costume and wish you'd shaved your legs :)

    I don't "spring surprises" on people :)

    :)

Zero chance of getting me in a swimming costume

I might just about manage to roll up my trousers and stand in the sea.

Legs and pits get epilated once a week, so they'll most probably be as they are :o

    Yes

In all the rented houses I ever checked out from, I only ever got stung for reasonable things - a stain on the carpet, some damage to a venetian blind - both done by small children. Honestly, the shower just needs to look clean - not as if it has never ever been used.

If the agents are coming to the place for viewings, you should be able to ask them if it all looks fine to them, or if they can identify anything that you need to put right before the checkout.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Maybe. Not getting much sleep last night or the night before hasn't helped. Am going to try really hard to go to bed on time tonight, and can get up at the usual time tomorrow instead of specially early like this morning. Will see how tomorrow goes. Jab 4 is tomorrow afternoon.

So this morning watched DS being part of a very hungry catapiller, this afternoon watched DDs 1 and 2 playing recorded and then DD2 playing more football. It is nice watching your kids being good at things and much better than I ever was.

I have spent this evening watching DD being an extra in Oliver. She was a workhouse cook.
