No, nothing is better than a can opener. Could you have a date in the diary for a weekend away at the end of the year? Would that do?

The first time I read this, I read it as a can opener is my idea of a perfect gift rather than I'd rather not have anything :rotfl:

Like the suggestions of something to remember MiL.

But does it work when you've not been using anything? That always sounds like something you have to use once you've got it spotless to start with. To keep it like that, not make it like that.

Takes two goes apparently. In theory you always spray after you have showered and the shower stays clean.

We use a squeegy (like you would use on your car) after a shower to remove water spots.

Looks like I've a big shopping list then! From microfibres and squeegies .... to named products.

Shouldn't come to a total of more than £6-8 to get most/all of it though if I put my mind to it. Probably it's a good job for tomorrow.

All those old style methods work ..... if you own your own home or are renting and not moving out .... but for a check out inspection I need to crank up the result.

Nothing else is a problem. Oven's done, kitchen sink's done, loo's done .... all are no problem ... it's just that soddin' glass enclosure.

The think is you can use these things in your own home, and if you like one of them replace them :) a three pack of micro fibre will last you for ever. If you get colour coded ones you can use ones for specific rooms for germ phobia. :)

If they work they can be used in new home.... if they don't work they're just annoying and will hang around :)

All the cheap shops sell microfibres .... I'll go to the shop that has parking first (I know they have them there) and they are blue/white.... so in the future I'd have to keep an eye out for different coloured ones in other shops.

If they're that good, I can use one when I wash down the patio windows too.

In my house blue is bathroom, white is kitchen. ;) glass ones often are slightly different, and are green, ( green for glass) red/ pink is for .....general, and then you often get fluorescent yellow. I don't like the yellow ones much. No reason. I just don't like them. :D

    Cheap ones are fine.

Just had a text from the agent to let me know they've a whole bunch of viewings on where I'm living .... the day I am moving out. I phoned them to say "No, I told you the completion date and that I didn't know when I'd be moving and I'd be in touch to let you know when viewings could go on ...." they say they've got 12 booked, so they'll rearrange those for the next day.

You couldn't make it up could you ..... if they'd listened they'd have called me once they got interest to see when......

In our second to last rental, the LL was trying to sell for a year. Once we went on holiday to Australia. I sent them an email saying they could do viewings on everyday between 'now' and the date of our return. Got home at 6am or something to find an email on my blackberry saying they had booked 3 viewings for later that day. Morons they were.

They also once tried to let themselves into our flat on a Saturday afternoon whilst we were sitting on the sofa watching tv - we had specifically said no to the viewing. Didn't ring the bell or knock on the door just tried to open it and walk in.

No, I didn't have to cash in the ISAs in the end. Just scraped through with what was in bank accounts. So I have money.

Ah, that makes a difference then.
    Actually, no it doesn't.
Capital/savings are not taken into account with tax credits.
The capital limit for council tax benefit has risen to 16k too, though I guess you'd be better off with WTC & 25% discount instead.
It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.

My suggestion for descaling in the bathroom is Viakal. Comes in a spray bottle too.

I second Viakal. Amazing stuff if you have hard water.

Without wanting to sound older than I am, I went back to work in 1995, there was no help with childcare in the form of benefits at all and childcare was a lot cheaper than it is now. There were a lot less nurseries and a lot less childminders. Most childminders were mums of young kids who didn't want to leave their own and were happy to have some extra money themselves. There was very little provision for wrap around care, little ones either went to nurseries with restricted hours or childminders. Nowadays there seems to be nurseries offering varied hours and nannies and childminders providing before and after school/ nursery care. It was also very difficult to find high level part time work.

    *feeling old*

Feeling older.....I went back to work in late 1993 after having James!

Initially, I worked in two different part time jobs that fitted around ex's hours. In early 1995, I started a new job working afternoons so needed childcare...James loved his day nursery but I couldn't afford to put him in there for all the afternoons I worked (I was effectively working for about a fiver on those afternoons), so had to rely on friends and family to pick up the slack.

This is how James learned the rude word for poo as it was an old school friend's favourite word :rotfl:

He stayed at that nursery until he was 4 despite me having further babies and having to leave work, we just reduced his afternoons to fit in with the playgroup he attended as we felt it was an important part of his socialisation...and the fact he absolutely loved it there and adored the staff.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.
