    Just a thought but are you exacerbating the problem by doing this?

    If you say the words without the associative action, the link should weaken or even be broken entirely. (That's my memory of Biology anyway).

    Tomorrow is A-level results day. I will be getting 14 students' results.

    Have we got any Nice Offspring getting results tomorrow? Sue's Josh? And I think Sue's Youngest will be getting GCSEs next Thursday. Sorry can't remember exactly how old the other Nice Offspring are, but sure there must be some more.

    Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
    Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.     :)

    PN you missed the cunning part with the visa prepay cards. This lets you 'spend' money to get credit card cashback or petrol vouchers but what you are buying is as good as cash that you can pay straight back onto the credit card thus getting the benefits for nothing...

    My boy's only qualification is a certificate from the Puppy Foundation Assessment. He also got a Gromit badge. Already back then, it was quite clear he wasn't going to pursue further academical qualifications.

    I'm a bit better about it now, but in the first few years of it, I always used to have exam stress dreams just before public exam results came out - usually about having to retake finals!! :eek:

    Congratulations to Wheezy westie. A richly deserved certificate, I'm sure. He ought to have some kind of platinum award for cuteness, though.

    Let me guess. The front page of every single newspaper on Friday will be a large picture of a group of attractive 18 year-old girls hugging.

    I used to find the post-GCSE results day newspaper to be rather sordid.

    I just ignore the newspapers. I'm interested in the results of the young people I actually know, and of course especially the results that I'll be held responsible for if they're not what they ought to be.
