POST OFFICE Car Insurance 'beat your renewal by £50?'

Options
Hi.
Bought my car insurance from the Post Office in April, attracted by their 'we will beat your renewal by £50' offer. I stood to get a £92 rebate after 60 days!!
No details of this offer were in the paperwork which they sent with the policy ,so I phoned them and was given an address to send my old renewal for them to 'beat'.
I went via topcashback when I bought the policy and £30 tracked immediatly . This promptly dissappeared three days after sending my renewal quote for comparison making me think it had arrived (I assumed they could not apply two discount methods to one policy)
Now over two months later, nothing has happened and phoning them today was told they had no record of my renewal and must re-send it.
My question is has anyone had success with the Post Office's 'we will beat your renewal by £50' offer ?

Thanks in advance
Martin

Was your renewal with the Post Office insurance or another company?

I dont think they will beat their own renewal by £50.

I presume its subject to terms and conditions. Where they would have said sorry we cannot offer you cover at £50 less than your renewal.

I avoid anything like that. Its not worth the effort to me. I want the cheapest price not having to jump through hoops to get the best price after paying too much.

Sorry if I had not clarified a few details .
My renewal was from Esure and was £42 less than the Post Office quote.
PO claim they will beat any renewal by £50....

According to the ts + cs you mustn't use a price comparison site.

That doesn't preclude topcashback (unless you used their "compare" cashback rather than the direct link to post office)

Did you make a claim on topcashback after the cashback was declined?

I just went via a TCB link ,not via their or any other comparison site.
I have not made a claim with TCB since the cashback was withdrawn.
    thanks

Is it too late to dispute the declined cashback at tcb?

My visit/purchase is still on record at TCB and I cannot see anywhere that its too late to question its disappearance , but I will wait and see what the Postoffice make of myEsure renewal first .

I considered this but their quote was much higher than my renewal and I don't trust their, insure with us now and we will refund the difference + £50 if we cannot spot a difference method.
Why not send your renewal quote in advance and they decide if they can beat the quote or not?.

From the offer ts + cs you look entitled to the cashback as well as the offer.

It specifically mentions not available via price comparison sites. ( tcb isn't!)

But there will be a time limit to pursue a cashback claim.
