No, your instinct is correct - DO NOT take out any form of secured loan, especially not to buy something which depreciates, like a car! Remember the warning words, and they are true 'Your home is at risk if you don't keep up the payments on any loan secured on your home'.

I know this might be a bit radical, but have you thought about the idea of buying what you can afford, like maybe saving for the car, and if you can't afford it...and by that i mean you don't have the money, then don't get it.

I did say it was radical :o

Have rang a garage where the car is and they are looking at possibities including mini select (leasing option) they are going to call back will keep you updated.

sorry - i mean a contract on a new one - these new cars are heavily subsidised by bmw meaning that often they will work out cheaper per month than a used one.

They will often avoid telling you this if you are already interested in an older one, because it means they will clear some of their used stock.

easiest way is to phone a different dealer and ask about it.
  • You cant say that jaffa, OP deserves the car for getting a pay rise.

I think im deserving a BMW M3 on finance perhaps I should trade in my £500 diesel car. I think I deserve it for all my hard work :D After all a M3 will make my life more complete, id be happier as I have a expensive possession and im sure all the girls will change there mind about me and want to be with me.

HI - it really weird how they accept u for one thing then not the next . i have 4 defaults and just found out i have 1 ccj. i got a car loan from blackhorse last aug - the car was for 8.5k it all totalled about 11k inc interest. Why dont u ask them to to give u the car loan - instead of cash

Have you checked your credit rating online? Are you positive it's just the one default? Is your name linked to someone with a really crap credit rating?
Got £820 back from HSBC! Now entering comps like mad with the hope of winning a nice long holiday....
