banks still displaying 0845 nunbers

Hopefully the banks will not phase out their 0845 numbers for some time yet - as 0845 is still free at the week end with many land line packages (if on BT) unlike 0345. Of course, 0845 is bad news if calling with a mobile.0

Ofcom's rules are clear that 03 numbers must be charged the same as 01 and 02 numbers, i.e. landlines, so if 01 and 02 numbers are included at weekends, then 03 numbers must be included too. This is obligatory, not optional, so if BT aren't including 03 numbers in the weekend package you should complain to BT and report them to Ofcom.

"Calls to 03 numbers cost no more than a national rate call to an 01 or 02 number and must count towards any inclusive minutes in the same way as 01 and 02 calls."0 -
0845 is local rate, right?
Back in 2001, I was calling my ISP over dial-up on a 0845 and that was only 2p/min from a BT line.Goals

It was actually billed as "Lo-Call" rate, but as there is no longer a definition between Local and National calls anyway it's moot.43580 -

That's not what my BT T&Cs say:
"calls to numbers starting with 01, 02 or 03 (excluding Channel Islands) plus 0845 & 0870 numbers are included, midnight Friday to midnight Sunday, for up to an hour (you can hang up and redial to avoid charges)"0 -
Sorry for raising confusion. I'm on BT Basic, so 0345 are not free at the weekend for me.0

In that case, you get £4.50 of free calls every quarter, so 0345 numbers will be free if you haven't used that allowance. Also, you're only paying £5.10 per month for line rental, so you can't have everything.0 -

I think the petition says it all, please pass this on as we need a good response to get the government to do anything, after all they brough in the exemption.
