When we start out on the Debt-Free Wannabe trail we do loads of big "stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the Gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free...
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

Hi guys!!
Will post properly later, but just to let you know that Ziggy is well... She's regularly posting on the "Small Things" Facebook group, so I'm sure it's just busy busy at the moment for her... (Feel free to PM your details if you'd like to join the group on Facebook! I'm sure one of us will be able to work out how to add you!!)

Hello All, good to know Ziggy is OK - I was beginning to worry.
Had a bit of a spendy day today but all budgeted - why do I still feel slightly guilty!
Have done 2 long dog walks (saves on gym fees).
Had to give son a lift to work so also went to nearby shop where I needed to get some things, saving a journey.
I bought hair dye and a friend is helping me to use it before I have my hair cut next week - £4.05 for the dye and a cup of tea/cake for my friend much cheaper than getting it done at the hairdressers.
Did a meal plan and big food shop (since OH has been ill I've been doing small shops and buying him treats - need to get back with the plan).
Got caught in the rain on the way home from second dog walk, got undressed and into bed and had a lovely siesta.
Did OH's "hair" with the clippers (not much of it
) and his eyebrows with scissors.
Sorted out a big stack of paperwork, now need to file it. Still haven't updated my spreadsheet
. Am tempted by the YNAB software - everyone seems to be raving about it and it's on special offer........
That's all for now. Hope you are all having a good weekend. x0 -
Hi everyone! Payday today so another month of starting off back on the DFW trail! Decided to take this month off debt paying as ive worked quite hard and i have some big events this month. Back on it twice as hard from august!
Todays list:
- move bill money to other account
- get car cleaned- not very DFW but for the price i pay and the time they take i would not be able to do a better job!
- buy some new clothes to rejoin the gym- done and in the sale!
- stick to list in savers and get all the months cleaning and toiletries
- home dye my hair £5 instead of £45
- fuel my car - at bp so i get cashback and nectar.
- tidy house
- buy best friend a bday prezzie- found it £15 cheaper by looking around that what she had it saved on her amazon wish list
- found a card in my stash
Think thats about it for today! Going to aim for a low spend day tomorrow and NSDs in the week.

Thanks for starting the thread Bagpuss
- Went to A**I today for the first time instead of using the £15 off £60 home delivery voucher at one of the big 4. Got a trolley load of stuff, including meat, for £46!! Would have cost twice as much at my usual supermarket. I feel I've been missing out on something and am totally converted! The only down side was it was stupidly busy in there, but I'm not surprised!
- Planned meals for the week
- Checked postcode lottery
- Surveys to check
- Work on the dreaded dissertation still to do
- Poochy had an impromptu shower after rolling in fox poop, naughty girl!
- NSD on Sunday
- Washing and ironing to do

Time to get back control of my money & stress levels
Yesterday I:- Checked lottery tickets - no winners
- Met a friend for breakfast - went for something cheap (it's nice to get out of the house)
- Bought a top but it needs to go back as it doesn't fit and looks a bit odd
- Lunch and dinner from stores
- Did a couple of hours studying
- Had a LSD
- Watched a really good film on the sky box - we are the millers
Plans for today:- Meals from stores
- Need to do a lot of studying - I've got an exam next Monday
- Checked investments and re-invested wherever possible
- Logged into local shipping centre - you earn points for things like logging in, parking and downloading offers which you can exchange for a chance to win a gift card or free parking
- Have an early night - haven't been sleeping very well recently
Think that is about it for me
Take care all
