Afternoon Sunday Campers,
Sorry to hear about your partner's job, Tiggy10. Fingers crossed!
Today's small things:
*Cashed my Toluna points in for next John Lewis voucher (am still stashing them towards a Kenwood Chef in the Jan sales)
*Entered a competition.
*Read energy meters & submted readings online. Noticed that today's gas & night time electricity readings are still lower now than the estimated reading used to calculate our bill at the beginning of May so that should help with buiilding up credit for the winter months.
*Reconciled June's budgets. We did pretty well considering it was a tight-ish month. We did have a few nights away camping, but I paid for this using our Holiday Pig & then top-sliced our grocery budget for food costs while we were there. Anything else had to come from our own June personal spends budgets. We didn't dip into the account at all, & had a lovely time. It didn't feel remotely like a mini-break on the cheap, yet was completely guilt-free.
*Set July's budget. I did think we might have some spare money for the bathroom fund this month but dentist bill, cat adoption fee, NT membership dd & an imminent card service has taken care of that :-( We do have £185 in the Car Piggy so that should help offset costs, but the gears are making an odd noise & odd noises always sound expensive to me.
*Sent off a code for a free cat food voucher which I received as part of recent cat rescue package.
*mr f is just roasting a chicken & making a lovely Sunday lunch, so I'm going to do a really serious rubber chicken tomorrow as I'm feeling motivated with money saving at the moment.
*Must remember to load washer for a cheap overnight wash on Economy 7.
*Feed tomatoes, aubs, cukes, chillies, peppers, courgettes, etc, this afternoon.
Cheers,
f x2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.
2) To read 50 books (12/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg
Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!0 -
Good afternoon everyone,
Well today was a very successful day, as I managed to achieve everything that I wanted to including a NSD.
Today I have/will
Horse riding for me and DD (not mse but good form of exercise and dd enjoys it - I have managed to negotiate a cheaper rate)
Complete free online course
Work 2–6
Treat family to take away for dinner (not mse but cheaper than original plan of going to the circus)
Check Mr A order, scan and store
Submit s&s information
Catch up with laundry
Sort work gear for next week
Get an early night as got a busy week0 -
I am sorry - but I have come here to rant about what 'small money saving thing' I've just done.
Housemate has come home from a weekend away, and decided it was really important to put the heating on to dry her clothes.
I am not a happy bunny.
