Thanks. When you've followed through on the 'deals' have you found them to be what was actually advertised on the HP website?

For example, I get the secret hotels email daily. On practically every occasion I have gone in to the calendar to select the sale price/date advertised, it's not there, but the next band up is, which is always more expensive!!

They usually tell you to use other websites like sky scanner and kayak to find the flights, but give you a great starting point and ideas of the best dates. I don't always completely get the price they say, but I think that might be down to people getting there before me.

I got a flights to San Francisco last year for £280 return - the catch - flying from Dublin. This was great though, since even adding hotels and return flights to Dublin (I extended my holiday a couple of days to see Dublin) I still saved around £400 than if I just flew from Glasgow. Next March I am going back to San Francisco, this time from Oslo, flying British Airways for £325 return. Glasgow to SF would have been £2k for 5 nights, Edinburgh to Oslo (via Ryanair) for 3 nights, Oslo to SF for 5 nights, then back to Oslo for 1, before returning to Edinburgh - £1530. These prices are for two people.

They also come up with loads of package deals for Greece, Turkey, Spain etc. There was one that flashed on my phone for Greece this morning, Family of 4 for 7 nights, self catering, £157 per person from Stanstead. Good if you can make it work for you.

  • Ah just a quick one if you don't mind :)

I just booked with holidaypirates, I managed to enter our personal info with the flight tour provider.
But I am wondering what do I need to do regarding the hotel? Is the booking confirmation email enough from holiday pirates enough for the hotel? Or do I need to do/ receive anything else from them?

I would really appreciate any suggestions.

    Kind regards,
    Bettyna
