If you don't have any old documentation like statements etc, you'll just have to trust them to have calculated the redress correctly.
Do note that this was a windfall you didn't expect. CPP wrote to you in the first instance, so why would they then withhold any monies?
You could write a SAR letter to whatever card provider the insurance pertained to, but this would very likely be £10 wasted in my opinion.
Just enjoy your redress..0 -
Hi all, I hope that this is the place to ask my question about CPP in Wymondham. I received a letter this morning from CPP telling me to make a claim. I have no idea what it is about, which card it refers to and after looking at the templates, no idea what it covered. Should I just return the form saying that I haven't got the faintest?0

Thanks Money, but I have read that link already. I don't know if it is the Identity Protection or Card Protection or indeed any of the other ones. Each one has a different template.Moneyineptitude wrote: »0 -
The CPP covering letter pretty much tells you what to put in your claim form.0

Does it? The one that I have gives different scenarios that are giving rise to a possible compensation award. I still don't know where I fit in is it ID fraud, loss of card etc etc. I simply don't know what the policy covered as I didn't know that I had a policy.0 -

If you've read the MSE advice article and still don't know what your complaint might be, then there isn't really any more we can add.
Don't say it was added without your knowledge or permission simply because you've forgotten you had it though. Look for stronger (preferably verifiable) reasons.0 -
Thanks Money, I am still no wiser what this policy that I appear to have covers. I have used Martin's templates and lumped them all together as one claim on the basis that it is bound to include the right policy. Will wait and see what the result is.Moneyineptitude wrote: »If you've read the MSE advice article and still don't know what your complaint might be, then there isn't really any more we can add.

Curiously I see that Martin states that no one to his knowledge has been refused compensation. I just hope that I am not going to be the first through my ignorance.0 -
The MSE article (not written by Martin Lewis, incidentally) does go some way towards implying that filling in the form is a formality and that everyone who returns the form (with a post 2005 complaint) is refunded.no one to his knowledge has been refused compensation. I just hope that I am not going to be the first through my ignorance.
If you are still concerned, it might be wise to call the Scheme team on 08000 83 43 93 and ask them how best to proceed.0
