An interesting read as I've just got my renewal, always been with AA or RAC but seem so expensive now I'm looking around at others.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Curious if the cover I have been paying for for the past 3 years is valid I called them and they confirmed if I did have to call them out it would be at this point they tell me my cover is useless! And I would have to upgrade it and pay a extra premium for the short notice call out (this is an extra fee you have to pay if you use a service you only just enrolled).
When my car passed the 10 year old mark, I contacted RAC on the next renewal to question the cover and the 10 year limit (think it was December 2013).
The telephone operative didn't initially know anything about the 10 year rule, I pointed it out in their terms for new cover, they checked and confirmed (verbally) to me that it doesn't apply for renewals where the business started before the car was 10 years old.
That seems to be the opposite of what you were told.0 -
I think that it is worth reiterating that the 10 year rule only applies to the basic roadside option.
I have a car that is nearly 60 years old and the RAC recovered it without any problem at all.0 -

How are Green Flag? I've been with them for the past 5 years. Called them out twice to work on a 12 year old and a 14 year old car and both times they were happy to help but makes me wonder if they could opt out using that clause if they didn't fancy helping?0

Same with one of mine, it's nearly 50 years old, AA had no issue with that.0 -
Its only the cheaper packages that exclude cars over 10 years.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

This got me thinking about breakdown cover so I had a lookey over at Green Flag and at the moment their offering to go for 50% of an AA or RAC renewal price.

My ADAC renewal is due however all the wording is in German. When I rang and spoke to an English speaking rep he stated i had to give three months notice NOT to renew at the date in question.
Is that right? He also said they do not produce any English Ts and Cs.
Some advice would be very much appreciated.0 -
