HSBC Global Investment Centre / InvestDirect

Hello,
I have a S&S ISA with HSBC Global Investment Centre (GIC) and that lets me purchase OEIC's. Now I wish to purchase some ETF's as well, but those can only be bought via HSBC's InvestDirect product.
I can open an HSBC InvestDirect account, but does that mean I have to open another S&S ISA or is it part of the same ISA since they're both HSBC products ?
Thanks!

If both use the same ISA manager then you are ok. If they use different ISA managers then you cant. You will need to ask them to be sure.
Have you considered using a wrap platform catering for the whole of market instead?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Thanks, I've asked them this. Awaiting response.Have you considered using a wrap platform catering for the whole of market instead?
Yes although HSBC offer their Premier banking service for those that hold £50k or more of savings / investments with them. That's attractive, but if their investing platform isn't up to scratch on the ISA side (as I'll shortly find out) then it might not make sense.0 -
Just to let you know HSBC confirms the two products are separate ISA Managers. Not sure why they decided that was a good idea, but not too impressed.
