Credit Card Charges

I am trying to reclaim £396 in charges from my Tesco Credit Card. They have offered to repay me £40. They state that this is the one and only offer they are willing to make and if I am not happy with it, I have to go to the Ombudsman.

Am I entitled to the full £396 or not. The charges are the usual late paments and over the limit fees.

call their bluff. It'll cost them more than £400 if it goes to the ombudsman.

Unfortunately, the Financial Ombudsman will also only request that the company involved pays the difference between the current £12 charge and any older and higher charges (which is probably where the £40 comes from), so is not an alternative to court proceedings for these claims.

Still write back and call their bluff, though.

Thanks for the replies. The £40 is the difference in their charges. Im not giving in that easily, I will write to them again and see what happens.
