In the situation you are describing no. However I have seen 1 bedroom places turned into 2 beds and 2 beds turned into 3 beds by using the living room. However in all those places you didn't need to go through a bedroom to access the bathroom or kitchen.

I would suggest looking for a flat that has a sitting room big enough (and with a window in that section) to put a partition wall up to create a box room big enough for a single bed. Some one beds have L shaped living rooms. Or even use a conservatory as a bedroom if it is off the sitting room.

But an arrangement you suggested, not a chance.

Is there any chance you could get someone else moved into the bathroom as well?

The sort that'd want that room would be a right shower!

With bunk-beds and hammocks you can surely get in at least 10 lodgers.

I bags the cupboard under the stairs. I want to pretend I'm Harry Potter.

No, I can't see anyone accepting that.

When I let my house, where the downstairs was open plan, I was approached by a few groups of friends who clearly had more people than bedrooms and were evidently hoping to use the lounge as a third bedroom; so I told those people it wasn't going to work in my house and they all agreed!
