New York Hop On Hop Off Bus Tour Settlement

Options
Just had an e-mail that says

If You Bought Gray Line or CitySights “Hop-On, Hop-Off” Bus Tours in New York City, You Could Get a Refund of Up to $80.00 from a Settlement.

Initially thought it was dodgy - but looked it up and seems genuine.

However ....the link to register the claim doesn't appear to work.

Anyone else dealing with this and either had the same problem or found a solution?
Thanks

  • This is in the wrong place I think - you can tell I'm new to this!
How do I shift it? And where should I shift it to??
  • Do two legged people have to pay twice the fare for a hop on hop off bus?

We have had an email as well. Like you checked it out via Reuters and seems genuine, but email address doesn't work.
  • i got this email too and my link doesnt work either..
  • It just worked for me. Although the wording says

    https://www.tourbussettlement.com/

    it actually goes to

    https://tourbussettlement.com/

I don't understand the difference but I hope that helps
  • Thanks for that - but still won't open! Strange. Anyone else managed to get it yet?
  • I got it and manage to sign-in to the site using the unique PIN in the email. But there I'm stuck. You have to put in your address details - but there is no option if you do not live in the United States. Does this mean you are not eligible if you are not resident in the US?

I managed to get on the site the other day by just clicking the link. Took me a few attempts first. As previously mentioned, there is no provision to submit an overseas address. And there seem to be nobody to email the question too. Indeed a reply to the email just ended in a delivery failure of the email. And now I can't seem to open the site at all!!

Obviously there's a chance the email isn't genuine, although the lawsuit certainly is, and is published in a few US newspaper/media sites. And the refund amount suggested to me ties in with the number of tickets I purchased in 2009, so the info must have come from the original purchase site.

If anyone can shed light on whether this is totally genuine/non US residents are eligible, then I would be very grateful.

Considering phoning the number at the bottom of the email as I have inclusive calls to the USA on phone plan. Anybody tried that??

I just tried this and it worked fine, and there was an option to select and enter a UK address. It didn't ask for any details other than address, and name/ email was already prepopulated from the PIN they emailed. So it seems legit and hopefully I'll get the money. And if it's not legit then hopefully no harm done as I've not given any confidential info. Worth everyone trying again if the claims site is fixed for UK address claims now?
