Traveling alone would I get an aisle seat?

I don't want a window seat as I can see the couple sitting on the row with me fall asleep and stay asleep (lucky them)
I cannot sleep on planes and want to know what most airlines standard procedures are with seat allocation with sole travellers?
Not willing to pay extra.

Any spare seat that is available.
I don't believe that there is any whizzy computer programme that automatically can determine if that single traveller wants a window or an aisle seat, one at the front or at the back of the aircraft. The system will just allocate a vacant seat.
Depending on the airline can you check-in on line as soon as the option is available to select the best of the seats that remain?0 -
if you don't want to pay extra to select a seat on your flight online before you go, get to check-in early, so you can get your pick of the available seats.0

Yes you can. Self check in online 24 hours before the flight and select an aisle seat.
As someone allocated the aisle and middle seat with my then 7 year old son on the way back from Hong Kong, the window seat was given to a lady who woke my 7 year old up every 30 mins so she could go chat with her mates loudly a few rows up during the night flight. Wouldn't have made much difference swapping seats with her as her volume and the thrust with which she got up and moved about meant an uncomfortable journey for all alongside, infront and behind her.Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

.
That would depend on if there are any left and what airline the OP is flying with0 -
Ive always asked for an Isle seat, & its usually ok, but now they know they can get more money from a booked seat, so they try to get you to pay this.
You cant even demand 2 seats together if your a couple, unless you pay extra.0 -
Ask at the checkin desk for an aisle seat?Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Pretty hard to answer specifically as you've given no idea which airline it is or even if it is long haul or short haul so any answers will be very general. I'm guessing as you are talking about three seats across it is an economy booking and not business class.
I've never not managed to book an aisle seat flying to and from the USA solo except when I missed my flight and was standby for the next and got confirmed onto the flight 10 minutes before the doors were closed .
EDIT Just looked back at your past posts and it appears you are going to Rhodes. If you don't want to guarantee it by prepaying for a reserved seat then get to the airport mega early (say 3 hours before minimum) so you are first in line when check in opens and cross your fingers.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

Blimey i thought you was doing a long haul flight,Rhodes is only just over 4 hours.
I always travel to India and never reserve a aisle seat but i do turn up early and mostly get a aisle seat but then do swap it if i am sitting near someone with long legs as its a 10 hour flight and they need the aisle to stretch their legs.0 -
You can get an aisle seat if you pay for it (which you don't want to do) or you can choose one yourself when you check in online, or you can ask for one when you check in at the airport, if there is one available you will get it.
But there are no 'procedures' for lone travellers to get an aisle seat.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
It all depends on the airline, Easyjet and Ryanair for example won't let you choose without paying.0
