How come being in Bournemouth makes it less likely to win?

Who knows. Perhaps he has 'contacts'. Either way, Devere never do court outside of Bournemouth and almost always win there. You may need to be prepared to appeal this if the judgment is obviously bonkers.

I would also try and get this into any other court.

Welllll...is it a coincidence he was a JP there. Who knows?!! He does usually win but then again we haven't helped with defences there until now.

you guys are really helpful on this I appreciate it. I think I know what I am going to do, as I am far to busy at work to gather this information, and either way looks like I will end up paying the fine!
That's just what he wants, and it's not a fine, and you might still win. Also you can always offer him less in a 'without prejudice' offer letter. Separate from the Part 18 request, on a separate sheet headed up 'without prejudice save as to costs' if you must, make an offer. You could put both sheets in the same envelope (the offer and the Part 18 request letter).

But you might get the case stayed for POPLA instead and then you WOULD win so don't give up, don't pay him any 3 figure sum just yet. You realise you could always settle it the day before the hearing and it would be the same situation - right now you are nowhere near a hearing. You have options.

Let's see your broken links to your pics of signage change the 'http' to 'hxxp' and put a break in the URL to make the link not 'clicky' then you can post it here.

I thought it's at the court where the papers are filed. If He files in Bournemouth, then it will be heard at Bournemouth.

Small claims hearings are normally transferred to the court the defendant requests, if the defendant is a private individual against a company.

Out of interest is that the same if individual v a Company?
My fiance is about to issue a Small Claims against a firm in Liverpool, some few hundred miles from us.

OK, cannot see anything readable at all about the risk of a PCN then?! Unclear signage for starters.

What about the PCN or Notice to Keeper letters, did you keep any of them? Please show them here if you did?
