Sent two TVs instead of one?

Hi
I took delivery of a tv on Monday, expensive £1k plus. We have been waiting 5 weeks for delivery and had been chasing it up, then it arrived without word on Monday.
Today I got an automated call telling me my tv is being delivered tommorrow...?
I have been given a timescale and a text confirming it's being delivered.
Now, what do I do. Obviously I could tell them and let them know they are sending me 2 TVs or legally if they deliver it to me can I keep it.

For a start you only have had one TV delivered.
If they deliver another then you need to tell them. If you don't and with these things it will take them awhile to find out and you have used the other then they can charge you for any damages and in my view that would include rendering it unsalable as new if you have been using it.
You will need to arrange a time suitable to you for them to come and collect the second one if it ever arrives.0 -
The best option would be to refuse delivery.
Legally, I don't think you have to do anything about it. However the retailer can chase you for a return of the TV (or its value) for up to 6 years afterwards. They have to arrange to collect it, but you have to make it available.
Morally, you should tell them.0 -
Well if they deliver it could I send it back, and be refunded. That was my plan as tbh they have done nothing. But mess me around anyway.
They charged my card twice, and I chased them for a refund. I'm thinking this may be where the 2 TVs have come from?
As for them chasing me, I cancelled a tumble dryer order with argos about 4 years ago, they refunded me and it's still sitting in my kitchen happily. No one ever got in contact.
I will hang on to it if it arrives, if they get in touch they can have it otherwise all good.
Thanks for advice0 -
Anyone else you steal from?
You obviously had made up your mind yet you come on here, set up an account and tell everyone you are a chav.....nice!0 -

No I was looking for advice on the legalities. It's not stealing. I paid for one, they sent two (hopefully) not my fault their system messed up is it. .0 -

What else do you call keeping something that is not yours?
Chav is a far more polite term than I would use for you.0 -

I suggest to newbie, that as you describe your card has been debited twice, you return the unwanted one.0 -
If you have received a refund then for the second debit...
Theft is the act of intentionally depriving someone of an asset which is legally theirs.
Sounds like theft to me.
If you haven't received a refund then you have paid for two tv's and you have received two tv's.0 -
Ignore the naysayers above.
Who did you order from? One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0 -
I ordered from costco online. They debited my card twice for one order. Denied doing it, I had to send in bank statements, they then refunded me half he money and I had to chase to get the rest. Then 5 weeks later this occurs, I can only assume their system has put through 2 TVs instead of one,
Frt I don't believe everyone would be Asa honest as they claim to be.
Claiming to have higher morals than me but doing nothing but being rude and name calling. Irony at its best.
We shall see if the tv turns up. They might twig and then nothing lost.0
