With all due respect, there doesn't need to be anyone called Barker or Lowe; it's was just a trading name - the company behind it is named.
Where was it proven these were actual names of Wonga employees? ... not that it matters, just interested.
And that is the fraud employed by Wonga, the only address given is of the purported Barker and Lowe to which people would reply as it is a letter heading. Pure deceit on behalf of Wonga
Deceit
the action or practice of deceiving someone by concealing or misrepresenting the truth. And that is what Wonga did.
As far as the names of employees you must ask the BBC and ITV how they found that out0 -

No, but they love the argument spat several hundred pounds an hour.
Not sure what you mean by effect the law, that's surely a mixture of parliament, the courts system and judges. Always the possibility of finding one of teh many senile judges to come up with an odd determination so can't ever say it's a clear case, very illogical system but then I'm a scientist and engineer so prefer logic and fact to impressive talk.0 -

Barker and Lowe is not a trading name of wonga.com or Wonga.
It's completely contrived.
In fact Wonga.com (and indeed Wonga) are trading names themselves (of WDFC UK Limited).0 -

''Wonga has admitted the fake names used were all former employees at the firm''

Odd, I'm sure it says at the bottom of that letter
Wonga.com Limited t/a Barker and Lowe Legal Recoveries. ... Registered in England no. 6374235
A quick search on Companies House indicates this was the name the company was known as at the time of writing that letter back in 2010; the company changed it's name to WDFC UK LIMITED on 03/05/2013.0 -

Yes I'm pretty sure it does too but it's irrelevant to the consideration of whether it's true or in fact entirely fictitious.
WDFC, Wonga or wonga.com have never traded as Barker and Lowe.0
